  1. In for my second hunt of 2022. It seemed weird yesterday but it almost seems illegal today.
  2. Sorry for your and your families loss
  3. It's a big pond.....prob 5 acres.
  4. Jan 1 hunt. 1:30- dark Weird. 50 degrees too. Hunted CSS didn't see a thing. Lots of tracks but can't tell how old they were. Official end of deer season. Was nice to be outside but wasn't into it too much as there just isn't much going on here late season.
  5. The Top Gear series in America that had Tanner Foust, Rutledge and Adam in it is one of my favorite series ever. If you didn't see it when it was on it's worth a look. Funny stuff. Think it was on for like 7 seasons.
  6. This is the pond we plan on duck hunting next season.
  7. All the ...Men who built America series from the history channel are pretty good too. They have a frontier one, industrial, ww2.
  8. Have you seen the Hatfield's and McCoys series? You prob have but it just came to mind.
  9. Some weird hunting but I'm in. 50 degrees on Jan 1. Not expecting much. Trails are all dead stuff. Tiny cut cornfield about 300 away next to road. Maybe a just before dark wanderer up the trail.
  10. Makes sense. I often use a base on spices but add in stuff to my taste. The cracked pepper and jalepeno I make is a mix of things. I use a cracked pepper mix from local Amish store but add in diced jalapenos, 1/2 bottle of green Tabasco, diced garlic and onion powder. Usually comes out great. The foothills moonshine I used a mix but added some dried cranberries and some applesauce. Just did a test pattie of each and they seem good to go.
  11. Try here. https://www.waltonsinc.com/breakfast-sausage-seasoning They have listed here a southern breakfast sausage spice pack. I haven't used that particular one but have bought a few from them and they are good. Its where I got the foothills moonshine mix to try this year.
  12. Not venison just pork but made 14lbs of foothills moonshine breakfast sausage and 11 lbs of cracked pepper and jalapeno. Will patty the breakfast and case the jalapeno tomorrow. Only put one deer in the freezer this year so just making regular sausage as my ground went all to making a bunch of bacon burgers.
  13. Crusted backstrap, italian beans and mushrooms, mashed with Bionic tater topping. And a Boehiem.
  14. Til midnight Tonite! Love it. Get there crap outa there! Good to find it now so they aren't in there mid bow season next yeat
  15. Not a beer. But happy New year's Eve folks. Not sure what it is but it's Jim Beam, a little orange Caracao and soda. So with the orange and Jim i guess i will name it a Boeheim!
  16. You've had it toooo good for tooo long!
  17. Jealous as hell. Beauty of a day. Just went home from work and a guy is launching his boat. Kinda neat to be fishing on New year's Eve. Looks like a great day.
  18. Worked for the DOT and we used to call them cake eaters! Lol. It was setup so all the guys that were in their last three years got the most overtime cause it bolstered their retirement too. So your still paying for it years after. Lol. In the winter I would make 7-8K extra on overtime. And this was many years ago.
  19. Pre- emptive strike against Covid. Numbers are exploding here. Prob get it at some point soon. So figure one of these cocktails a day should help out.
  20. Yes agreed. My point was this demographic is more likely to be hunters. Thus driving down the hunter numbers in NY.
  21. i actually think the opposite. More people have disposable income and thus there own properties to hunt or lease (which is a newer concept). Before there were more family owned farms and so many have been broken up and sold, and people want to buy something with a little land to hunt. Both the porperties i have hunted for the last 10 years used to be farms that i wouldnt have access to if they were still farming. Thus even if you get 20 acres of your own land to hunt you stick to that before hunting on state land. I never see lines of cars out at state lands and the orange army out anymore. The land is being bought by hunters or leased by hunters so they dont have to hunt public. As one that did years ago and saw an orange hat around every tree, most have felt the same way and found a way to have a private area of land. I also think more women and kids are licensed now which keeps the numbers up some.
  22. plus all the people that have just moved out of NY. This state has the largest declining population. Esp the right leaning, gun owning demographic. - because of the weather of course......
  23. Just watching news. Onondaga co and Oneida county both breaking records on positives. 800+ and 700+ today. Tomorrow Onondaga is expecting 1700+ . Folks we all are getting it if you didn't know already. I know several people that have gotten in more than once. And hard to find a spot to even test right now.
