  1. I'm pretty much just going to work from one end of my gear and clothes to the other and then try to leave behind as much as I can afford. My contact lense case is absolutly Going on tip of my toothbrush though
  2. Just thinking about venison that's been living on grapes has got me feeling starved
  3. At 59 now after moving up from 53 but I might drop down half a turn be extra sure things dont go all pear shaped once I'm in a tree. Mine maxes out at 70 so I'm hoping to get up there in the off season to horse around with long distance shots on a target.
  4. January shot was from before I fixed my settings in the camera.
  5. Sorry, yes it's a takedown recurve. I haven't had the chance to look into everyone's options, but I will. I took advantage of a dicks employee coupon I had and ordered the branded arrows that match the bow and we're going to take it from there. Thanks guys.
  6. If nothing else, I want to be up in a tree on the 2nd just for the sake of doing it since it's my first how season. Yesterday I decided to do far more than I should have in the heat and it was horrible. As for the duplicate, if you can't delete, are you able to disable people from commenting on the thread and maybe that can make it sort itself out.
  7. I understand the need to recover from the spending that was done on RnD but the real problem with that is that it seems that there's never is a desire to bring the price down after the investments have been returned. My budget level pretty much necessitates that I buy a lot of China made products but it doesent mean I'm happy about it. I decided to go with the g5 montec because I want to try reusing my broadheads as much as I can; as i know someone who i trust to return them back to a better than factory sharpness. I'd buy expandables made from the finest chinesium to screw around with this year and if they held up to my abuse maybe I'd concider them next year, or even maybe late season. But for now I'm interested in using the sort of blade setup that my dad used to feed my family before I was born. (he switched to just gun later in his life). So i guess it's part legacy for me, and part wanting less parts involved.
  8. I understand fully. She wont be hunting, and we both realize the minimum required poundage to go after game. I posted here because I trust peoples opinions here. Thanks for making sure I understand the law.
  9. Well heck at that price... it'll be fun to just grab a few and butcher some pumkins out back. If they turn out to he worth hunting with then so be it.
  10. Glad to hear it helped you out so much. Oftentimes people don't give it the chance it deserves because it wasent a miracle solution after the first session, meanwhile it's perfectly normal to take antibiotics for a week and a half without batting an eye for example.
  11. So I've got the takedown razorbak at 25lb so my gifriend can shoot with me... but I'm not sure what arrows would be good. Youth victory arrows (500 spine) aren't rated for that poundage on the box. Pse sells arrows with the same name but I was wondering if there were other options.
  12. What about acupuncture? I got carpal tunnel from tieing rebar and a combination of things didn't really do a whole lot until I added getting needled into the mix.
  13. Six uncut, unused beman ics hunter classic arrows. Inserts are still in their bag, stapled to the info sheet inside. I prefer a rockland buyer so we can exchange in person and I won't need to visit the post office. Asking 45$
  14. one intresting thing somone mentioned to me was the blades are built to curl/fold to go around ribs instead of needing to cut/break though them. Could help with penetration.
  15. If you've got a mud puddle somewhere id say just stick em in as deep as you can without getting the mud inside
  16. Unless I'm mistaken, I think I remember seeing these in my dad's gear maybe 25 years ago. 142 grain and not a spot of rust, the blades are a collar that spin freely/independent of the tip. Has anyone used these?
  17. I've been reading posts for a while but only made an account recently. I've been trying to stalk deer the past few years with an inherited mossberg 835 but haven't fired at any deer I've found. I managed to get my hands on a PSE droptine XT which I think is a rebranded Stinger X and will be trying to bow hunt this year for the first time. I'm having a great time making my own adjustments. I've been shooting Victory Decimators (8.0 gpi) because the price is right but am curious if there's something else from dicks or Davis that's still priced right for a cheep skate that understands the importance of quality.
  18. I've been using those for target myself. I'm debating on getting a new box, or to make a switch to something else on the shelf at dicks.
  19. Agreed. If and when you get a rash from the ivy, split the jewel weed down the center and rub it on to relieve the worst of the itching
  20. Only seeing this thread now... sounds like it was a great time. Anyone know of anything simular coming up, closer to rockland?
  21. Very interesting... going to be my first early season in the woods so there's going to be a whole lot of new things to see, versus the regular day to day sights around the edge of the house.
  22. Anyone else still seeing fawns so young they are still spotted? I don't remember seeing them still at this point in Rockland. Not in the past 4 years or so... Attached is taken on my way to work.
