  1. Good luck grow. I'm sure it'll turn up.. so I found a posted in the car. Put a note on it that they have until Saturday to remove it with the land owners contact info. Stuck it in a Ziploc and zip tied it to the sticks. It takes a lot of calls and not a lot of brains to set up equip on private property
  2. Confirmed that no one else has permission. Landowners suggest taking it down. I'd reach out to the person who placed it, but no contact info. The last thing I want is to have trespassers, or to have someone f with my car while I'm hunting because I removed their stand..
  3. I want the group's opinion on something. Was just walking out for coffee and a snack. There is treeline that runs straight up the middle of the property and splits 2 fields. I travel this line because it helps conceal me. Anyway on the way out I noticed that there is a brand new hang on stand and set of sticks in a tree smack dab in the middle of the property. No contact information anywhere on it. I am the only one with permission to hunt here and the property is posted. What would you do?
  4. Nothing moving in 8a.. nose hasn't stopped running since I got here.
  5. Just had a young 6 pt circle me at 15yds. He seemed oblivious to me being here. I have an estrous sent wick out that he walked right past. Oblivious to that to..
  6. 45 minute drive this morning took me an hour because there were so many deer on their feet near the road including one real nice buck. Not sure how many points because it's hard to count them when I drive by in the dark, but they were tall and had mass. I think it was either 8 or 10. Either way nice deer. Today's the day..

  8. Don't get me wrong.. we all want quick clean kills..I would just hate to have to shoot through the straps to get there
  9. When you're that high up and shooting down so such a steep angle, is there any worry about shooting through the backstraps? I usually stay 10-15' up..
  10. Work today, then woods tomorrow. Good luck today! Should be a good one!
  11. Holy crap. I'm in the cat tails looking for birds when I hear a walking and a grunt maybe 15 feet in front of me. I freeze and a big 6 walks right toward me. I made a noise to stop him otherwise he might walked right into me!
  12. I've had enough fun for one day. This wind is killing me. Will be back at it in the morning..
  13. Just saw a buck.. 250 yards across the field.. tried to rattle him in but he wanted nothing to do with it..
  14. Morning recap from 8a.. walked in at about 6. Bumped something. Too dark to see it but it sounded like a damn horse. At about 7 I see 2 flashlights to my left at property line. Too dark to see which side of the posteds they were on. At 8 watched a doe and two fawns makes there way through the bean field 200 ahead of me. A tall 6pt followed them about 50 yds behind. As they approached the opposite side there was a decent 8pt waiting for them. Then I lost them over a small rise. I look where I see the flashlight earlier and see a kid in a tree. He leaves at 930. I walked over. His stand is on his side of the line by about 5 feet with his back to his property.
  15. 2 decent bucks chasing a doe with 2 fawns 300 yards away.. oh and a trespasser 125 yds to my left
  16. Good luck today everyone! Today is the day. 32* in 8a. Couldn't find any bacon so I went with peanut butter and banana sandwiches. Completely unsatisfying on a long cold sit..
  17. What's everyone shooting? I've got the carbon express advantax. Feeling good out to 40.. can't wait for Saturday!
  18. Biggest pet peeves: utter lack of respect. Kinda sums it all up
  19. I actually sold the compound this year and picked up a crossbow. I respect both in their own right. Between work and family, I don't don't have the time that I need to practice with a compound. Not to the point where I feel confident making a consistent shot. With the xbow, I shoot a few times to make sure I feel good about the scope at various ranges. But that's just my story. To each their own.
