    I hope I don't regret this later.. seems like a slow morning out there though and we need something to fill the thread for the day.. so i'm curious what y'all would guess at this guys age? I got him on camera waking past one of my stands a few days ago. He looks like a real slob based on the body, but the head gear isn't what I'd expect on a deer that size. Thoughts? Maybe an old buck on the decline? Sick?

    Good luck to everyone out today. I'll be following along from the office. Stay warm and stay safe! Finally some snow in Monroe county. It's about 20 degree with the thick fluffy flakes coming down. I always see deer when there is fresh snow. I hope for similar weather on Saturday.

    I pulled trail cam cards in the way out today. I was surprised to see some new bucks show up, and a few of them are decent. A bunch are showing half racks or broken tines. Also got this cool pic.

    As I get older I'm starting to accept some things as truth.. the rut, g-spots, and chupacabra are all myths.. That and that deer, my wife, and my 5 year old are all smarter than me..

    Got bored. Decided to scout/still hunt the perimeter of the property. Came across this giant scrape. Otherwise not much to report. Very few rubs or scrapes...

    8A.. In stand by 6, sweating and trying to catch my breath while strapping in. Not even seated yet and I hear movement all around me. I saw a big body move into the corn at 30 yds. A buck was running all around in front of me. I've never heard so much grunting. As it started getting gray i was so excited I was shaking. It was like that scene from Jurassic Park where you can see the trees move but can't see the dino. In front of me I could see the stalks moving as he ran back and forth grunting. As it got closer to 7 i could hear him getting further and further away. Haven't seen anything but squirrels since. That's the most excitement I've had so far this season.     Almost just tagged a mature 8 pt with my bumper. At least I know they're on their feet this morning. Edit: saw 2 good bucks and at least 9 doe on the way in. Feeling like today is the day.

    I've been stalking this thread from the office. Sounds like things are FINALLY starting to heat up in some places. Congrats on some nice deer! I'm back out tomorrow for the last sit before gun season. It'll be my 7th and final sit before Saturday. I hope to at least see a deer, let along get a good shot at one. Forecast is calling for a high of 36 with snow through the morning and 10-20 mph WNW winds. IF they're right, should make for an interesting morning. Good luck to anyone who's out tonight!

    Congrats on a real nice buck Bowshotmuzzleloader! and WNY Bowhunter... Sweet Jesus! It's nice to see that the activity seems to be picking up out there. Moog - a few years back I picked up the Carbon Express X Force Advantex. It's fun to shoot, although I had some trouble early on. The string broke on my second shot. I also had an issue with the top of the rail where it comes in contact with the string. In both cases their customer service was fantastic and they sent me some freebies for the trouble. Haven't had an issue since then.

    What a wonky year. I have close to 30 hours logged in stands with no deer sightings. Cameras have all about dried up. I know there are some big ones walking around though, even without the pix... This track came from last weekend.. here's to hoping! Edit: sorry for interrupting the bromance.

    Sat most of the day with a cold wind pushing me around. The few times that it calmed down it was actually a beautiful day. Then the wind would start up again. Saw no deer. Packed up and headed out. Nearly hit 5 different bucks on the way home including a giant wide 10 pt. Also had a doe walk across in front of my car. I literally had to come to a stop to wait for her to get out of the way. I've had 6 sits without seeing any deer from the stand. I think I'm going to start hunting over the parkway. Might up my odds a bit.

    Checking in from 8g. 6th sit with no deer spotted. Sun's out for a change, but this f'in wind is relentless. Congrats to everyone who connected!

    One of the guys that I work with says they have a lobby full of taxidermy. He was parked out front staring through the doors when they first opened the plant about a year ago. According to him, the lady who was was watching the door (receptionist? security?) came out and offered him a tour. I think i might see if that offer is still out there. If I can weasel my way in, I'll see if I can get some covert pix. I forgot to mention in the earlier post, picked up my bow on CL. Took it to a shop for a tuning. needed to put some accessories on it. Under $200 for everything including arrows, case, etc..

    Elite has their plant literally in the building next to my office... I should wander over one of these days to see if they offer free samples? I'm shooting a Bowtech (Diamond) Edge. Short ATA length makes it nice to have when up in a small hang on stand, and it's a shooter..

    At this point in my life I look for affordable, reliable, functional, and durable over pretty. I know there are going to be a lot of opinions on this, and to each his (or her) own. My all purpose small game gun is a Rem 887 Nitro Mag. accepts up to 3.5 inch shells, polymer stock, and the barrel is wrapped in a powder coat. it's pretty much indestructible. Never had an issue cycling rounds through it, and have carried it through mud, marshes, briars and just about everything else and have never worried about scratching it or dinging it.

    I try to be the nice guy, i really do. An arrest can have long lasting effects. But I think you're all right. If I don't take a hard stance on this it's going to continue to be something that i have to deal with. If I get another chance to get a CO in there while he's there, or if i can get a picture of his tags, I'll take this to the next level. Back to hunting.. TurkeyFeathers - did you arrow the monster 18 point that you're waiting for? With all the time and patience you've put in, you've certainly earned it..

    I hadn't thought of this, but I like it! I also like an idea I read in another post about mixing it up with posted signs and "this property is under electronic surveillance" signs.
