Focusing on the rack makes you more excited and buck fever sets in. When I decide to shoot I will focus on the shot. Sometimes rack is bigger and sometimes smaller but the results is a well placed shot. AR make getting a large buck easier and that's why people support it. Not for any of the other excuses people try to use. If you want bigger racked bucks they are out there just takes alot more effort and luck. Deer season is all year long although you will have to capitalize in the 2 and half months your allowed to hunt them. So if you want a mature large rack buck get to it.

Been sitting in 7r since 630 and haven't heard a shot. No wind and quiet this am. Wanted to do some still hunting but with no cover noise gonna stay put.

Good luck everyone today. My wife won't let me hunt on thanksgiving, city girl. Says I have to stay home and spend the day with the family so I am cooking the turkey.

My father shot one just like that Saturday evening. Both broke about an inch up. Never seen that before

Alot of fun back in the day before every piece of land was posted. Family and friends all got together. It was a community event. Can not do anymore cause of land access but that's ok. Back then bigger quantity of deer where seen and taken. Now fewer deer seen while hunting. Maybe cause no one drives anymore or cause predators such as bears coyote and bobcat were a rarity 20 years ago in my area

Shot a 5 point this am in 8y. Took home and got skinned. Got back in stand in 7r around 2. I think I took a little nap while here. Ready to go now

12 gauge 870 with a 2 power weaver scope and using super x bullets . It killed deer for my grandfather my father and for me over the last 10 years. The gun and scope are probably 50 years old. The sentimental value is why I carry it.

The talk of western states and big bucks and how we should follow their example makes me wonder how quickly baiting would become legal and the diseases that can come with that.

I bow hunt for more time in the woods. I will take gun hunting over bow hunting any day. And no I would not want season shortened. And muzzleloading is fun too cause most everyone has given up, the weather is too cold and oh yeah the bucks act like they do in October.

Mechanic. Have all case tests. Trained in Ford, suzuki, Subaru and Hyundai. Been at same dealership for too many years but I love it. If it's broke I fix it. Long rode and expensive tools to be successful. Seen a Lot try but few succeed.

Been in stand since 630. Seen lone doe came in and laid 15 yards almost right under me.stayed about an hour then left. That was 730 when she showed. Nothing since. Raining about 2 hours now in 7r

Some acorns in 8y on a couple purses of property I hunt. None have a Lot. Hickory nuts heavy and the deer seem to be following them and leaving the acorns. No acorns on 7r property.

I do not hear deer but I hear the chipmunk running

The problem with molar is after 5 years in ny state they all are rusty.

I hunt in chemung county. This is first year on land in corning but still chemung county.
