There are plenty of videos of all steel real guns from major gun companies that show guns with problems and even guns that blowup on youtube just imagine what could happen with a 3d plastic one Unless 3d printing guns becomes plug and play and pops out a fully functional all metal gun . Its nothing to worry about . Or by now you would of heard something about it in the news of criminals using them. -

Its just like any other task you do some in the know do things themselves around the house and others hire a craftsman to fix things . Only the guys that are good with there hands will play around with dyi guns most people criminals included will find it much easier to buy a gun in the market it is flooded with them more guns then people in this country. I guess the point of what that company is trying to make is even if you ban all guns people will still be able to get them . The knowledge is already out there . -

Actually there are guys that can cut out most metal parts with just a angle grinder if you look on youtube . Get a few measuring calibers and have a sample part and your in business. The reason this never became the norm for criminals is in most parts of the world it is really easy to get real guns for them to use. -

They have had table top cnc machines for over 10 years already that are pretty cheep can mill parts with real steel that can make any part you like just about now how many criminals have made there guns with those ? 0 that i know of . Its all hype depending if you want to put the machine together yourself or get a turnkey one they cost between few hundred to a few thousand. They have been around for over 10 15 years already . This 3d company is trying to reinvent the wheel basically. -

Well let me put it to you this way a gun that breaks after 1 or 2 shots means it may break or blowup the first time you use it . Thats why real guns are made many many times stronger then they need to be . Its a safety issue that every engineer and designer follows. You would not build a bridge with the bare minimum material that would keep it up would you . So why risk it with a gun ? -

Well im not going to be the one to hold one and pull the trigger i like my fingers thank you lol melt? the barrel probably blowup . And take parts of your hand with it . Maybe that company should sell 3d print prosthetic fingers and hands with there gun plans someone going to need them im sure lol -

But the labtop ? You never hook that up to the internet its going to leave records so even if you dont hook up the printer with the laptop at the same time as soon as you do what ever your laptop was doing will show . -

But they can track 3d guns you are leaving a digital trail some would argue it makes it even easier to catch a criminal using a 3d printer to make guns anything connected to the internet can be tracked or traced . As soon as you hook your 3d printer up to the internet everything you print on it can be seen -

Exactly when you buy one its been tested you go make one with a 3d printer or any other method. By hand there is no guaranty its going to work . Thats why criminals traditionally just buy them or steal real ones . Much more practical. And safer -

Yes first off you have to have knowledge of blueprints how to read them how to use the programs how to assemble the parts . And probably even refine the parts because usually from what i have seen the finish on 3d parts is not that good . The media giving people the idea you just press a button and automatically comes out a fully factional ar 15 with bullets all ready to go to the range lol But what you are going to get is a bunch of simi finshed parts that still need to be worked on. Its really not more easy then doing it with other methods . Which most people are not going to be able to do either . A lazy scumbag criminal probably not going to bother learning all that and just go buy or steal one on the streets just much easier for them . Lets face it . If some one wants to break the law there going to break the law you can kill someone with a pencil, Should we ban pencils ? Besides its free speech issue people have the right to publish any book they like . Anyone can just go to your local library or bookstore and find books on gun, gunsmithing and fabrication and do the same anyway. Its nothing new . -

I think it would be your technology geek playing around with 3d guns . I think criminals and others would look elsewhere or anyone who values there own life would probably not trust it to a homemade gun like that . Quality reliability is not going to be like a real gun. -

Its all hype started by this company to get free PR for there 3d business But in reality if your doing stuff like 3d printing of gun parts using the internet that can easily be traced to whos making them . Its not any better for criminals then just getting the guns from the streets in my opinion. And lets face it any craftsman who has knowledge of metal can make a gun and were doing it way before there ever was 3d printing . The plans have been around for over 100 years nothing new. There are literally hundreds of books on the subject of gun making . In Pakistan they make ak47 with hand files . Those are really untraceable guns . Downloading plans on the internet leaves a digital trail . This technology really does not make it better or easier . Plus the quality and reliability of something like that is not going to be the same as a real gun you buy in a store made in a factory. Its All just hype -
