This poll should be no surprise anything that lets you shoot a,little farther a little more accurate or just give you more time to hunt is going to get a yes vote from most hunters

If you made a proposal that said you could get a special permit for $1000 To hunt all of archery season. With a gun . And figure out a shifty way to funnel that money to them some how you bet your as they would vote for it king Andy would be all over it lol That is all those guys care about $$$$$

But alot of crossbows have pistol grips alot look like AR s and make no noise maybe there to scary looking for them up in Albany Especially since that guy in Walking Dead uses one .

Early bow season not all it's cracked up to be anyway you got bugs and tics still around it can be very warm still you still got leaves and brush every thing is twice as thick you can't see nearly as far to even take advantage of a crossbow in many places . You xbow guys are lucky you got it in at the right time of year for them really . I think You already won

Maybe it did we have a crossbow season And if you did a poll if they should give out more tags or make the gun season longer you will get the same results . What did you expect people to say no to getting to use a better weapon lol

If some one new is going to get into hunting there going to go for the gun first . Come on lets be honest here Unless the are not allowed to buy a gun for some reason. Why would you say that is going over board?

I said I was joking I don't have a strong stance on it either way I use what ever i can shoot better thats all end of story . You put xbow in all of archery that is probably what I'm using like every one else as far as more hunters nope just more gun hunters gettng into it . I doubt you're going to get all new hunters. From that . It will be bow hunters and gun hunters switching over.

Yea but you suck at compound bow to probably and that is why you want the xbow in all of archery so bad . Lol just joking I have know way of knowing . And I don't even blame anyone for wanting to use a better weapon to Harvest deer. See I at least i can shoot a compound bow really good so I don't care one way or the other . I Can not shot a traditional bow for crap tho lol But if you got rid of compound bows in archery season I would make a effort to try to get good at it . And I believe I would eventually I welcome that Kinda . Or it would be nice to have a separate recurve season So I could have a reason to use the thing and get good at it . Lol

I don't think the solar panels look bad In a yard actually but the wind farms really piss me off can't stand seeing those things .

Yea I wish if I could shoot out to 25 yards with a recurve I would be happy . I can hit a apple off your head at 40 yards with my compound bow tho but when I hunt i keep it under 30 . With my recurve on the other hand I have to be close enough to piss on it to take a good clean shot .

Yep I do that even with the compound bow but the reality is I don't hunt a place with a ton of deer . I be just passing time with the range I can hit good at with a recurve I don't like taking bad shots

If some one can only hunt 1 day a week in archery season and he can pick between bow and crossbow . What do you think most are going to use. ? Its, the same reason recurve went out of favor to compound bows. For me and most all bow hunters that is what is going to happen , I will be using my crossbow instead of the other 2 if it is in all of archery. Either most or all of the time . Not going to change anything only make me kill more deer maybe . That is why I like the idea of separate season just so I have a reason to keep on using my bow. But it is not necessary . Or the end of the world to me .I like to hunt and have better odds to get something over all, and I don't hunt in a target rich environment Where I'm going to see a ton of deer like some guys do . If your lucky enough to have the time and land that offers that many opportunities more power to you .

Steveb has it right So your "easier" is OK for bow season but others is not. Got it. how about one long gun season season a lot don't really care right what we all use . You have one season and everything goes. Why make in complicated .

Thats why im not against a crossbow season or older guys having a exemption. I also would like a special season just for recurve . So I could use my recurve and not feel bad about not being able to take a shot because it is out of my range limit for that weapon See what I am saying . It is all about time .

I would love to get back into using my recurve but do i have the time no so I stick with the compound bow . I like the simplicity of them for some reason but I just don't have the time to practice with it to the point I can get as good as with my compound bow. And I dont have enough time to go hunting to have a shot with a recurve at the limited range I can shoot one good at . It is what it is . I envy those that do it tho .

Anyway most guys don't have the time to play around like that even if they wanted to yea I could hunt with a 9m or a 45 acp . And kick myself when a 10 point shows up at 200 yards lol

Besides even if someone wanted to be more challenged and do that most guys don't have the time to do it . Especially without the special season If you got limited time to hunt chances are you going to go for what ever gives you the best chance at that deer . The gun .

Most guys need a push most just want to hunt longer it is not about the weapon to them . If gun season was as long as bow most Will not pick up the bow . It is what it is . Some will most Will not .

You did not read what I wrote fully go back I said that already that's the point you introduce a better weapon the crossbow in all of archery most not going to use any bow anymore like what already happen with recurves . Your not going to kill the bow guys deer your just going to force them into crossbow hunting. That is all that Will happen in fact if giving the chance if DEC gave out permits to let hunters use a gun in all of archery for a exstra fee . Most All of the bows and xbow will go in the trash lol

For example let say you wanted to promote the sport of spear hunting or atlatl To get people into that sport you would need a special season for it . Because most guys are not going to go for a less effective weapon unless there is a reason for it like a special season . That's why its, good a idea to have seasons for each type of weapon and not group everything together . It' not about killing deer . Because if it was they could just make gun season longer or give out more tags in gun to do the job.
