That converted the 2 stage mushy trigger to a single stage trigger and reduced the sear engagement. Having a crisp clean trigger pull paid off. What you are describing seems similar to what used to be called CB caps, primer only .22rf ammo. It's more than just the quietness that makes the air rifle appealing, its the cost of shooting it. After the initial investment in the compressor ($300) and SCBA tank with fitting, (about $150) I can shoot all day for little cash outlay. Using 100 as a quantity that is easily cost visualized, 100 Crosman Premier HP pellets costs me $1.35 including tax. Beware, the "dark side" is adducting. Compare that to About $20 for the same amount of super colibri. Even if I go to the more expensive FX Hybrid slugs I am only spending $12.79 for 100 slugs with far superior ballistics. Super Colibi 20gr @ 590fps Mv, 528fps @ 100yds FX Hybrid Slug 22gr A 800fps Mv, 684fps @ 100yds There's also the consistency and inherent accuracy at short to moderate ranges. My chronograph readings had an extreme spread of just 4fps with a standard deviation of 1.8fps. That's hard to match with 2rf given the inconstancy of priming that goes along with the design. If you have ever shot 100yd benchrest with a 22rf, you would know the frustration involved with anything other than European Eley primed match ammo. Don't get me wrong, I'll still use my CZ 452 American for squirrel hunting and shooting where safety zones permit, but the "dark side" is addicting.

The PCP (Pre Charged Pneumatic) guns have evolved to where many features that were only to be found on 5 $ figure guns are now available for $300-$450. Once the significant cash outlay for the support equipment is made, it cost less than 2 cents a shot, less than the cost of a CF primer.

There are a few Gray Squirrels too but we have been able to baffle them so far. The only things that bother are sunflower seed and peanut butter suet. We put a squirrel baffle on the sunflower seed feeder post and we quit buy peanut butter suet. They only clean up the sunflower seeds that the birds drop. I found a grove of shagbark hickory trees in the woods behind the house and there are lots of oaks. I know there are some black walnuts around too. Come September I'll slip back there and decimate the gray squirrel population in a "sporting manner". Haven't had fried squirrel since I moved away from Southern Indiana.

Also do an adjustable comb to eliminate the foam cheek riser. That, of course, will require a complete refinish of the wood stock. Time to make the blonde look more like an auburn redhead.

No the bird feeder has attracted Downy Woodpeckers, Pileated Woodpeckers, Chickadees, Cardinals, Dark Eyed Juncos, Common Redpolls, Purple Finches, Gold Finches, White Throated Sparrows, Song Sparrows, Robins, Mourning Doves, Blue Jays, etc. All of those are welcome, but about a week ago the Starlings and Grackles discovered the dried mealworms and suet cakes. They empty the feeders in a matter of a few days and bully the other birds away.

Damned starlings and grackles are raiding the mealworms and suet cakes in our backyard birdfeeders. I finally got my Leupold VX Freedom 3-9×33 EFR scope mounted and zeroed for pesting duty. With the regulator set at 2600psi I'm getting 1040fps with the Crosman Premier HPs and 800fps with FX Hybrid Slugs. The distance is 19yds for the closet, 21yds for the farthest. I'm all set up on the back porch picnic bench. Here is 19yds with 5 of the Crosman pellets. 14.3gr at 1040fps 5 shots at 21Yds with the same pellets. Finally, 5 of the Crosman premiers and 5 of the FX Hybrid slugs, same POA. Basically the same POI for both projectiles. The FX Hybrid slugs are 22gr at 800fps.

My 8mm-06 Ackley Improved shooting a 200gr Speer Hotcor at 2900fps has these POIs at various point of the standard duplex reticle.

The .22 AVA is reputed to shoot the 22gr FX Hybrid Slugs with one hole accuracy at 50yds and sub MOA at 100. Unfortunately my AVA came with little pressure in the chamber and would not expel the tight fitting slugs although it did shoot the Crossman Premiers. Here is an FX slug that was chambered and then pushed out backward with a ramrod. From the looks of the rifling engraving, it's no wonder these are accurate in the gun. Although my SCBA tank isn't due for about a week, the YongHeng 4500psi compressor is on the Fedex truck out for delivery. I can at least charge the chamber of the rifle and play around wit it.

Well, if you compare it to Honey BOO BOO or Duck Dynasty, I would think it might be an improvement.

My DeHann S/S printed both barrels precisely at the same point. In fact, they guaranteed they would. The interior finish was also top notch. The Turkish shotguns perform way above their price point.
