  1. While the above method will certainly work, the drawback with it is that it will disturb the the depth setting of the sizing die in the press. If you are like me, you adjust the die depth so that only the neck is sized and and the shoulder is just bumped by the die. I have made a stuck case puller with very little cash outlay that only requires some tools that the average DIYer should have on hand. Material; 1 ea 1/8" X 1/4" bell reducer 1 ea. 1/8" MIP nipple of any length (you will only use a short potion of one threaded end) 1 ea 1/4" X 20 socket head cap screw with at least 1 1/2" of thread (you may need to use a die to cut additional threads) 1 ea 1/4" flat washer 1 ea 1/4' X 20 nut Tools; 1/4"X 20 tap #7 drill bit (a 3/16" but will probably work since we are working with a soft metal) Optional - 1/4" X 20 die in case more threads need to be cut on the bolt 3/16" Allan Wrench 7/16" open end wrench (if you're using a hex head machine screw you will need an additional 7/16" wrench) Hack saw Mill file Making the tool; screw the 1/8" pipe nipple snuggly into the small end of the bell reducer, (I used some loctite to lock the pieces together, but this is optional) Cut the nipple off nearly flush and carefully file the surface flat and square, deburr the I D Screw the nut all the way onto whatever threads are on the screw, place a washer on the bolt and insert it into the modified bell reducer. You should have at least 1/4" of thread extending beyond the large end if the bell reducer. If not, you will need to cut additional threads onto the shank of the screw. Prepping the stuck case and removing the stuck case; Note that the rim has been pulled off of this case by the shellholder when trying to extract it from the die in the press. Back off the lock nut on the decapping pin/expander button adjustment on the die and remove the decapping pin/expander button. DO NOT ALLOW THE BIT TO ENTER THE CASE ANY MORE THAN NECESSARY TO DRILL OUT THE PRIMER POCKET. Be careful to drill the hole as square to the C/L of the case as possible. You can use the bell reducer as a somewhat accurate gauge for this, keeping in mind that the hole in the bell reducer will be slightly oversize for the bit. Keep it centered. Again using the bell reduce as a guide, tap the hole you just drilled in the primer pocket with 1/4" X 20 threads. Placing the bell reducer over the base of the die, screw the threads into the tapped case making sure you get at least 3/8" of thread engagement. With the die secured in a padded vice, hold the head of the screw with the appropriate tool and take you 7/16" wrench and screw the nut down against the shoulder of the bell reducer until the stuck case comes free. I leave the case screwed onto the threads to keep the tool as a one piece unit when stored. Use the same method for lubing the case necks. I also coat the outside to the neck and shoulder to gauge the amount of resizing I'm doing when I first set up the die depth. Here is what that looks like in practice.
  2. Well, I found one a year younger! This is my date for Thanksgiving dinner at the neighbor's. She is flying in from Cape Town South Africa where she is on assignment on the 26th. She lives in Ottawa, and she thinks I'm "an amazing man".. Did I get lucky or what?
  3. Big weight loss this week! 7# weight loss this week, 126.2# total weight loss in 38 weeks, 3.3# average per week. 215#.

  5. As I walked into Walmart for some briefs today, I saw some nice winter coats on the rack at a very reasonable price. Since, my last winter coat was size XXL, I took an XL off the rack and tried it on. I was swimming in it. A Large fit perfectly with just enough extra room for some underlayers. I'm noticing a little swagger in my step, a bounce. I feel a little bit sexy again. Now that I'm single and sexy again, time to get back in the game

  7. More progress. I went shopping for some Wranglers that would fit my new slimmer waistline, the 46s had to go! I bought myself 3 pairs of relaxed fit 38" waist Wranglers. A far cry from July of 2017, And even a bit of an improvement from September 8th of this year.

  9. 3.8# weight loss this week, 113# total over 35 weeks, 3.23# average per week. 228.2# After a week long visit to Pennsylvania where I ate steaks and drank copious amounts of wine, I only posted a .2" loss over 2 weeks. I got back on track with the program. With my new job that keeps me on my feet walking most of the day, I managed a significant weight loss this week. Only 11.8# from my next milestone and token award for 125#, 36.8# from my ultimate goal of 150# weight loss that will get me down to 191.2#
  10. My son and I went out on the St Regis ro have one more go at trout before the season closed. I tied onto a broad shouldered Smallmouth Bass that gave me quite a fight on my 4 wt fly rod as I tried to untangle my landing net from a zipper tongue on my vest.
  11. 2# weight loss this week despite rainy weather that kept me off the bicycle most days. I'm hoping to post a total weight loss of 125# by October 31st which is 5 weeks away. If I can keep up my average weight loss of 3.4# per week, I should make it with a pound to spare.. After that, I will go into maintenance mode until XC skiing weather comes after Christmas. Exercise has been my key to the rapid reduction in weight. Ultimately I want to lose 150# to get down to around 190#. I went shopping for some long pants a few days ago. I was expecting to get into 42 waist. To my surprise I ended up buying 2 pair of 40 waist pants and even fit into a pair of 38s! I am now down to the weight I was in 2010. Once I get below that weight I will be going back even further. I weighed 215# briefly in 1990 before gaining 20# by September of 1991.. 2# weight loss this week, 109# total weight loss over 32 weeks, 3.4# average weekly weight loss. 232.2#

  18. P. O. Ackley considered the Arisaka to be the strongest bolt action.
  19. GOD NO! I want one that has already had a hysterectomy and gone through menopause. We did really well, with an incredible love life that lasted over 23 years, until all that crap happened. First the hysterectomy put a damper on our love life. Then, since she kept her ovaries, about 5 years later the menopause kicked in.
  20. Well, I tossed my wife out about 4 weeks ago because she insisted on having my permission to whore around or she would leave along with her income.. She's almost 15 years younger than me, so now my life's goal is to outlive her so she never gets any of my Social Security.
  21. Before: Summer 2017 probably about 330#, about 10# less than in February 2019. 9-8-19:
  22. Absolutely. The last time you caught me just after 12 weeks of no weight bearing on my left leg after foot surgery. The water is cooling down and high water in the spring/early summer kept a lot of fishman off the rivers. Might not be a bad time to plan a fly fishing trip up this way.
