  1. Read the transcripts of the testimony at the Hammond's trial & tell me they weren't out of control thugs that did as they damned well pleased & even threatened to frame the BLM if they didn't make the charges "go away".
  2. So, by your rational they shouldn't publish anything that supports the 2nd Amendment either?
  3. FIELD & STREAM thanks the Bundys for there help furthering the cause of conservation.. http://www.fieldandstream.com/blogs/the-conservationist/sportsmen-owe-the-bundys-a-thank-you
  4. No experience but I went to the site & checked it out. Nice looking rifle W/some attractive features. Not crazy about the fluted bolt, Just something to catch dirt & make it harder to clean. Other than that, pretty darned nice outfit. I would like to hold one in my hands I see that all models are the same length regardless of caliber. That being the case I probably wouldn't opt for a 308 length cartridge. Likewise W/the 22" barrel, a magnum wouldn't make much sense either. Which caliber did you purchase & how does it shoot? I'm a wood guy myself. Did you get walnut or laminated?
  5. Weighed the Oberndorf classic Mauser W/the 3-9x33 Leupold Compact scope the other day. All up weight, rifle, scope, mounts, & sling, 7# 12oz. Not bad for a rifle W/a 23 1/2" barrel.
  6. The reason the political forums are relegated to 2nd class status is so you & Papist can air your 2nd class rants W/O ruining other forums.
  7. I mount my scopes as low as possible to allow my eye to be as close as possible to the center of the FOV when I mount the gun W/my eyes closed, then open them. If the stock fits well you can do this & be very close to being on target too.
  8. Am I the only one that finds it ironic that folks that want the HIGH "see through" mounts in case the scope gets knocked off zero are using mounts that are more likely to get "knocked off zero"?
  9. Do you have a particular nursing home in mind where we can "watch the Grammys"?
  10. Max was a 15 mo old, untrained, totally uncontrollable "freebie" from a co-worker. I spent $1000s to make sure he had birds to play with.
  11. Now you have to deal with both a trajectory variable as well as the horizontal variance of LOS & the pullet path. Better to put the open sights off to the side.
  12. That's what quick flip scope lens caps are for.
  13. What makes you think that a scope requires you to take your eyes off the game? You still keep both eyes open when using a scope. A scope only requires one to focus on one plane, open sights require you to focus on 3 planes. Since that is impossible you must somehow "see" the 3 different points while still concentrating on the target. At least receiver sights reduce that to 2 planes. I don't know what kind of cheap scopes you have experience with, but none of mine require "refocusing" when I change magnification. I always keep my variable at the lowest setting for quick target acquisition on close shots. Longer shoots will most often allow the time to "zoom" in. In cases where you don't have time to do that, the lower setting will work just as well or better than open sights.
  14. A low power scope W/a wide field of view & a duplex reticle is faster to acquire the target than open sights.
  15. Most of it, but then VJP would try to take up the slack.
  16. I'd bet that it swings like bag of $hit too. Not to mention the fact that it's butt ugly. OP was looking for a pump anyway.
  17. If you have to gather in large numbers to feel bada$$, your just a coward hiding behind large numbers. I was a biker riding a stroker Hog over 40 years ago when being a biker wasn't cool. I seldom rode with more than 3-4 guys at a time. We rode fast & hard on fast, stripped down bikes, not fat pigs W/saddle bags, fairing, windshields & stereos.
  18. If you factor in the American jobs lost when one buys Chinese when an American product is just as good or better, it isn't a bargain. People that call themselves "patriots" & then buy Chinese crap like this are hypocrites. Same goes for Vortex scopes.
  19. Politics is one thing, xenophobia is quite another.
  20. 100' X 25' flight pen. The birds have blinders to prevent the onset of cannibalism. They are removed before release.
  21. The "action" PIX were taken by my former neighbor that was a semi-professional photographer. The 2 "bag" photo I took. The 1 W/the river in the background was taken in my back yard, the other at the entrance of my property across the road from the house.
  22. You should operate a pump action like you are trying to break it. The Mossberg 500 is the ONLY pump action that meets "Milspec".
  23. You're kidding me right? For me there would be no choice between an American made Mossberg & a Chinese piece of crap.
