aoudadhunter
Here are a few neat pics of all the random animals that show up at our protien feeders at one of or ranches in Texas. Btw we do not hunt these feeders they are for nutrition only we strictly spot and stalk. I'll post up more pics Monday we've caught sika, axis, Catalinas and even a few elk from time to time. These are aoudad or Barbary sheep btw.

Doc
Lol ..... It looks like a barnyard. How the heck many do they have there?
aoudadhunter
Well they're free-ranging in the hills of south west Texas all the way to the mountains of far west Texas. We are the only ranch for miles that feeds protien so typically we see anywhere from 50-150 sheep a day. Then again we have days where we only see 1 group of six but that's pretty rare. During breeding season the travel in larger herds and it's not uncommon to see 50+ sheep in 1 group.

aoudadhunter
That pen around the feeder is just to keep the wild hogs out. Are there any exotics in New York free-range or HF?
Paula
only on farms i think
Doc
That pen around the feeder is just to keep the wild hogs out. So how does that work? If the aoudad can get in, why can't the hogs get in?
landtracdeerhunter
You have some beautiful country out there. Fine looking animals.
Doc
Is an aoudad a goat or a sheep?

WNYBuckHunter
So how does that work? If the aoudad can get in, why can't the hogs get in? Just a guess, but thee is probably a low spot in the fencing where the sheep can get over it, but its high enough so hogs cant.
aoudadhunter
Aoudad are sheep and the fence is too high for hogs to get in ( not very good jumpers) but the sheep hop in.
Doc
That makes sense.
