Redirect Virus?

Has anyone ever had the "redirect virus" and been able to get rid of it? Everytime I try to do a search from search engine and click on a link, the redirect virus takes me off to random BS sites! I've done a lot of research, downloaded numerous anti-virus programs that have been said to work, but apparently nothing has removed the virus, as it keeps happening. Man, am I frustrated!

I had that happen once and then had Norton scan and fix...knock on wood never happened again...but was on Crate and Barrel this a.m.and read if you click this you will be diverted to another site...so cleared off and logged off....Good Luck

Yep. Ive worked on and fixed it many times. Ive posted the instructions here before, let me see if i can dig them up...

I can't remember what we use in the office since I only put my feet on the table and never fix anything. I'll ask my guys once I get back to the office.

I went throught this reciently and the answer was : tdsskiller which is free

and was the key in getting rid of the redirect virus with google. I would run that first. T

Yyour antivirus should be able to fix the rest of the problem. If you do not have a good antivirus then try the eset nod 32-they have 30 day trial and they found the balance of the problem. Let me know how it works out.

Ahhh, yes! tdsskiller! That's what I used a long time ago to get rid of the redirect virus! I remember deleting it when I was done, but this time when I got it, I couldn't remember what the name of the program was!

So far, so good!! Thanks for the suggestions! That Redirect Virus is a pain in the ass!! I hope it's gone for good this time and doesn't rear it's ugly head again!
