TEA Party and Governor Romney

I am not very political and am neither Conservative , or Liberal.. I'm in the middle and am usually not to happy about either party. I watch both Liberal and Conservative News shows to make choices and many times to figure out who is lying. I have made some observations and thought I would ask people on this site what they thought.

After Governor Romney was chosen as the Republican candidate it appeared to me that there was not the excitement that I thought that there would be. There were rather mild endorsements from some and I felt that many people in the party were not happy. ( There were some very silent political types)

After listening, reading and watching it APPEARED to me that the TEA Party(including the religious right) was really not excited the Governor winning. .(I have also been told by some TEA party friends that they were no longer Republicans, and that they were now TEA Party.)

I discussed this with some friends and told them that I believed that many TEA party supporters would say that they were behind Governor Romney , but would rather President Obama win this election so that they could build forces and win the next election with their candidate. I had many reasons why and how they would prepare, but it's better discussed then written.

One of my points was that if the Governor wins it will keep a more conservative candidate out for AT LEAST eight years .

Another point is that the voting public will want a change of party after eight years of a president, in this case President Obama, and it would be the perfect time to have a TEA party candidate win.

I thought most would disagree, and tell me that my old brain was gone, but I was not criticized as I thought that I would be, and some thought that it was a POSSIBILITY.(Obviously, some disagreed)

This morning I watched a more Liberal news show and was surprised when the question was asked if the panel thought that the TEA party would do as I had thought, and let President Obama win this one to gather forces and prepare to win the next election with a TEA party candidate..

Since apparently I am not the only one that had such thoughts I was wondering what you thought.

Remember this is only a thought that I had, not a fact, or wish...

I don't believe any TEA party supporter wants Obama to win a 2nd term, knowing it could be the end of this country before the term ends. Remember the TEA party only exists as an idea, not a true political party with specific leadership.

I believe if Romney wins and doesn't do what the TEA party expects in 4 years, they can challange his re-nomination with their own candidate at that time. The GOP also doesn't have to nominate a sitting president for a 2nd term, especially if his opponent is sure to win against him.

Seriously? "The end of the country"? Give me a break. And the TEA party may have started as a grassroots movement for change, but now its funded by the Koch brothers, which makes it just another pawn of big money.

If Obama gets re-elected, it may well turn out to be the election that ends America as we know it. His plan for "Change" will run at full throttle if he doesn't have to worry about re-election anymore.

Leftist talking heads are telling you the Koch Brothers have control of the TEA Party? How do you control something that has no leadership? I notice you don't mention the Democrats cozy relationship with George Soros here. Now there is a real American Patriot! LOL.

Specifically what do you mean by this? I hear this type of fear mongering rhetoric all the time with nothing specific to back it up. Can you be specific?

Thank god for the system of checks and balances. Yes, Obama is the radical in this race, and with a second and final term, he can be in a position that takes the political heat out of his socialistic goals. And yes, he can advance some rather worrisome policies that can have serious negative consequences. However, I do believe that "ending America as we know it" might be a bit strong given the fact that on his own, there is very little of significance that he can do by himself.

Now back to the original points about Romney getting soft support by Conservatives. Let's not forget that for all intents and purposes, Romney is the Republican candidate. He is the only one that has a chance of keeping Obama from being handed the election. Sad to say, and hard to believe, but there simply is no one else. Tea partyers and Conservatives all understand that, and they have fallen in line already behind Romney even though the enthusiasm isn't there. It's just a policy of accomodation to try to save the country from a crazy socialist ...... A truly worthy goal.

High Taxes, gun control, less freedom, less national soverignty and a bigger government with much more control. Those are the specifics I'm talking about. If Obama gets re-elected, these are very real threats to this country.
