NYbuck50
Hey guys, tuned broadheads today. had a quick question for our forum experts... My process was shoot one field point and one broadhead at each pin (3 times each to take the human element out of it). my bh's and field points were all bullseys at 20 and 30 yds. at 40 yards, bh was 2-3 inches left of bullseye, and 3-4 inches left at 50 yds.. my question is can this be solved by inceasing or decreasing poundage? im trying to not move the rest, as i dont have clearance issues now, and dont want any. any input would be appreciated. my setup is below: Hoyt Rampage XT 29inch dl 65# Goltip XT hunters 7795 black 100gr slick trick mags
Culvercreek hunt club
How far left are you at 70?. Come on I thought it was funny. for that small amount at that distacne it might be you or the pin too. if you are no using a very small diameter pin try that. a pin blocks a lot of target at that distance. Sounds like your group is stil good so are the 40 and 50 yard pins able to be adjusted right and left? If you are flying true out to 30 , i wouldn't touch the rest. Realistically how many shots are you going to have at that range and would you take them? One other thing? do you have a level vile on your site? at those distacnes a small cant inteh bow could put you that far off. NYbuck50
realistically 0.lol, and i know this whole post is a little nit picky. i wont shoot at a deer farther than 40. my pins are .19, and im sure some of it is me, but each group at 40 was similarly a few inches left. which is why though im not overly concerned with the grouping, if i could put the bow up or down a pound to get that in line id be fine with it.. i really dont plan on moving the rest, though i love my ripcord, their so finicky id rather have a 40yd shot a lil left than have clearance issues at every distance
A Sportsman
Thats exactly what I was thinking. At 40 yds, 2-3 inches left could easily be you. I wouldn't touch a thing. In all practical manner, you are tuned.
Culvercreek hunt club
is it just the broadheads that are left at 40 or are both left? can the pins be individually adjusted left and right?
NYbuck50
field points are in a standard archery bullseye for every pin.. the broadheads were 2-3 inches left of field points at
NYbuck50
The more i think about this, i may not touch anything.. had a few guys on AT trying to get me to move the rest, but the likely hood of even a 40 yd shot for me is low, most are 15-25 like everyone else. worst case if i have a perfect shot at 40, i can always hold a hair to the right. Culvercreek hunt club
In no way woudl I touch the rest. I might tweak the 40 yard pin to compensate if you wanted to. remember how we all fall apart and forget to hold a hair right when a monster 10 steps out. Elmo
My bow is currently set at 53# at the moment and it's what I've been practicing with. I want to move it up to 60# but is afraid it'll change things and I don't have time to resight it so I've kept it at 53#. Would going to up 60# change my zeroes or not enough to make a real difference?
Culvercreek hunt club
if you can't resight in and make adjustments don't change a thing at this point. Why? Lot of deer have fallen to bown under 55#
Elmo
I was told to start out low then move into your comfort weight particularly once my body strengthens it's "archery muscles" over time from shooting. At this point, I seem to be pulling 53# pretty easy. Sort of curious to see how it feels at 60#.
fasteddie
If you are good at 30 yards leave the settings alone . Adjustments might screw up your closer shots .
Doewhacker
You could move the sight bracket a bit and split the difference, be a little off at close ranges and closer from farther. Or you could move the rest and spend three weeks getting it back to being just right like I did... Hehe
