sampotter
Anyone else do this? I've been shooting 30 arrows a night for a few weeks now with my eyes closed. It allows me to focus on how the shot should feel. I actually attach my release, draw, and shoot all with my eyes closed. (I do open them to verify that I will hit my target somewhere) I find it makes it a lot easier to do all of these things when hunting. Makes it automatic. growalot
no not that but during season I always carry a practice arrow...when I come out of the woods in the evening and walk past my target set up...I'll pull that arrow and nock it as I'm walking away...usually dark enough all I can see is the out line...I'll turn and shoot..then check the shot with my flash light....I've gotten very surprisingly good at this...keeps the muscles from going stale between hunt's... Doewhacker
Can't say I do, but I know it would be usefull to help form. I have shot thousands of arrows over the last 25ish years (I am 32) so I kinda got the form thing down. most of the time..lol
MountainHunter
I have done it quite a bit over the years. To break myself of target panic I did it a lot years ago. My opinion after many years of shooting is that a calm and relaxed body and mind are the keys to our best shooting. Blind bale practice is a great routine to assist with that. Lawdwaz
I always have a Judo point tipped arrow in my quiver. I rove my way in and out to the stand and almost always take a shot when exiting my stand at a random leaf, flower or Federally Protected Bird. <grin> (Good thing I'm a bad shot............) If you don't own a Judo Point (a real one made by Zwickey) you should run out and grab a couple.

They should have them but make sure you get the correct grain weight to match your field point and broadheads. 434-9411 He's good people........ I like to do it to remind my body how everything is supposed to feel. I think I got the idea from one of the many useful Terry Wunderle articles. Doewhacker
Yes, I like to call it muscle memory. That's why some times when I shoot I only focus on form and don't worry about hitting bullseyes. Same thing as blank bail shooting.
