NYC Hunters?!

Wow, I was not aware of this! It is frightening to see what is required in NYC to own a long gun. It seems the 2nd Amendment has been all but eradicated in NYC. The Democrats will probably try to make the whole state be like NYC. Gun of all sorts have always been available in the US homes in the past but senseless tragedies like Newtown were unheard of. Something must have changed. That something is the break-up of the family and the related breakdown of religion. As G. K. Chesterton said many years ago, "If the family breaks apart the whole society breaks apart." The influence of the family and religion has been minimized in our culture. The Democrats and liberals continue to damage the family and use government to usurp the role of the family. Then they pretend to wonder why bad things happen. In NY State a teenager can have an abortion without parental consent and without a waiting period yet a hunter has to get permission from the New York City Police department and undergo a long waiting period for a bird gun. In NY State the abortion rate is nearly twice the national average ( http://www.guttmacher.org/pubs/sfaa/new_york.html). So its okay for lawmakers to promote the murder helpless unborn children in a goverment sanctioned abortion clinic. but when 20 children are killed in Newtown they blame the guns not their laws which eliminate and destroy the family! .People today are taught that they are entitled to have everything and have it their way, when they don't get it they resort to violence. Their are no restrictions on violent media which have been shown to be a factor in violence when children have anger related mental issues. All the gun control in the world won't stop the sort of violence we have experienced. Parents kill over 1.25 million innocent offspring every year in this country alone. Our culture of violence begins with abortion. Instead of taking guns from law abiding citizens maybe our government officials should be encouraging family values in our schools, supporting traditional marriage and marital fidelity and admit the importance of our children believeing in a moral code based on something bigger than themselves.

+1

And to think, this IS what they want to happen in all states not just NYC and eventually the entire state...  Make owning a gun so expensive with ammo, license and fire arm ownership that only the elite wealthy will be able to afford it.  Make unenforceable laws on guns so most are illegal to own or sell.  Limit ammo supplies and personal use through "limits on purchase".  Micro stamp every bullet so it is traceable.  Enforce gun registration for every fire arm for extra money for state and federal license yearly.  The 6 billion we contribute a year is not enough...  Arg and now they are trying to do health care!!!  Need I say more as the shut down has begun...

      Hi Everyone,
It is current the last week for regular season in upstate NY. Living the life working and being a full time student, I have some time off this week and would like to take a ride upstate to do a gun hunt. Never have I hunted public land in the areas 3 G, F, or N and was looking for some recommendations and help! I had used the DEC info locator and found California Hill and thought I might go there. Is there any recommendations on areas to go to in any of the wmu’s? Or on California? Any help would be really appreciated!!

      best of holiday wishes!

      Hello,
I am in the process of purchasing my first rifle to go hunting deer for the first time.  However, I have received contradicting information regarding the types of rifles that are legal.  Based on what I have read, it appears that I am able to use a bolt-action rifle with a pistol grip and a detachable magazine which holds 10 rounds.  However, I have been told that this is not the case. I can't seem to find where this is stated.  Can any one here provide me with some insight into this? I'd really appreciate it.
      Thanks in Advanced,
      Alfredo

Are you an outdoorsman? Do you hunt frequently? Do you experience the struggles of lifting your deer, elk, bear, or other kill onto your truck, ATV, or Gator? We’d like to interest you in our hunting hoist. My sons and I also had these problems. I created a solution with my portable hoist system. Our simple to use design allows flexibility to your hunt that other hoists can’t compare to. Simply attach our hoist to a tree, tie up the feet, crank the line, and you’re on your way! Check out what other customers had to say at http://huntersportablehoist.webs.com/testimonials where you can also find easy to view tutorials. Not much to post for a reply to keep this from getting buried.  Really just to keep some informed with a meaningful, subject relevant political post. lol  An updated list of legislation that had to due with deer hunting some might find useful.  Anyway, do get your friends together to write into or see your representatives.  if any of these bills mean anything to you, they are your means to make things happen.

      Hey there,

Brand new to this site and was hoping to meet hunting partners in the NYC/Westchester area.
I've been only hunting for about 2 years now but its slowly consumed my life. Looking to learn and enjoy the outdoors with others.
