biggamefish
Guys this is a good start to get your bow tuned. Remember you still have to tune and practice. Thanks for posting WNY
irish_redneck
Curious, if you're adjusting foc using the hit inserts for example. Do you add that weight to your field tip weight, or is there a seperate calculation? Edited October 31, 2012 by irish_redneck

irish_redneck
Mostly was wondering if it affected spine. I'm using easton axis st 400 28.5" (or 29.5?? Having a brainfart right now)with 100gr bh and 75gr hit with a 60lb draw. Wasn't sure if I'm technically underspined. Doewhacker
The more weight up front cause's a weaker spine effect, ex. you shooting 125 gr vs 75gr would be a difference. That is why a heavy spine is better in most hunting set ups.
irish_redneck
got that much from the table, but what about the 75gr insert behind the 100gr bh , am I technically shooting 175gr "broadhead" weight?

Yes, because all of the weight is on the front end.
irish_redneck
Any idea on proper spine for 29.5 175gr @ 60lb Sent from my DROID BIONIC using Tapatalk
Doewhacker
I would go with a spine of .300 to .340, especially on the .300 to .320 range.

dbHunterNY
Easton has really good shaft selection charts for target and hunting arrows. It has notes on it that take into account anything and everything. Despite shooting Easton arrows, they are what I use and would continue to use.
