Doewhacker
Any body ever try these things? I have allways used screw in steps but I see these and I don't think they would be too bad.. any thoughts?
nyslowhand
When I used a hang-on stand, had steps that were similiar -Rapid Rails. They were okay once they got the slack out of the attachment strap. If I had it to do again, I'd use the sectioned ladder style. More or less to make me more comfortable climbing up them. WNYBuckHunter
Ive been looking at putting up a hang on this year and am going back and forth with the types of steps. Ill probably end up with the sectional ladder style.
fasteddie
I bought a 16' aluminum ladder at a garage sale 2 years ago for $20 , painted it camo and cable locked it to a chain-on .

Doewhacker
WNY, do you have the hang on yet because.... http://www.sportsmansguide.com/net/cb/the-boss-lite-packable-combo.aspx?a=695486 not a terrible deal, just the steps alone are, http://www.sportsmansguide.com/net/cb/cb.aspx?a=686921
WNYBuckHunter
Thanks for the heads up guys. Doe, that stand looks ok, but I want something with a bigger platform. Ive been looking at one at Dick's that has the large platform, shooting rail and is only $69 on sale. I have a coupon to use there as well for 15% off. http://www.dickssportinggoods.com/product/index.jsp?productId=4286149&cp=2367438.2367824.2292572.2292573 Last time I was there, BassPro had the Gorilla or API steps for the same price. I have that same size platform on my stands, I love it. Last season I bought another one because Dicks had a sale and we had a coupon. I really want these section ladder steps.. maybe santa will bring them to me.

Just bought a ladder stand from Dick's for $128 total. F&S All Season Deluxe. I'm a little more secure and at ease climbing up a ladder stand. WNYBuckHunter
No, I already have a climber and another ladder stand besides my 2 man stand. Mobility isnt the issue, in this particular spot theres only 1 tree that I can get a stand into and I cant get a ladder stand in there. A hang on is a bit more expensive, but its the only way I can get into the spot effectively.
