fasteddie
I went down to a friend's property yesterday that is close by to see how things looked . What a surprise . They had made a Dirt Bike track several years ago and used it to run ATV's sometimes . The guy wasn't letting anyone run ATV's this year . The weeds and thorns have taken over and are 5' + high . I tried going through the stuff to check out 2 stands and got all tore up . I cannot fathom the deer traveling through this crap and am guessing that they will skirt around the area to travel through . I was very surprised to see how bad it had gotten . WNYBuckHunter
Deer go right through that stuff, guaranteed. Where do you think they will hole up during the day come gun season? They dont disappear off of the face of the earth lol.
Doc
I don't know how they do it, (especially bucks with those antlers sticking out), but they do walk right through stuff that would tear a hunter to pieces. Down our way, we are currently being over-taken by huge thickets of multi-flora rose (the meanest, nastiest stuff on the planet). You absolutely cannot even begin to walk through that crap. But the deer can and do. I've seen the tracks. I firmly believe that that is the way some of these deer get so old and huge around here. Nobody is going to go in after them simply because they can't. And by the way, it doesn't take the pressure of gun season to put them in there. They just plain like it : . Doc
biggamefish
That area will probably hold deer they can get in thier and feel safe. I would try to hunt it. The funny thing about that stuff is we can't even walk through it but the deer slide through it without making a noise. It is unbelievable
