Adirondack Moose

More pics from my brother of moose in the Adirondacks. 3 obviously different bulls and a cow/calf pair. Maybe in my lifetime we'll be able to hunt them?

That last bull is a noce one.  There are propbably some monsters in the adks.

  Where about in the adks are these guys?  I have a friend that has a camp and he says there are tracks all over the place some big some small and some gigantic.

How cool would it be for one of those guys to stumble up on you while on stand.

They estimate the NY moose herd to be about 700 animals.  They say that when the herd reaches 1700-2000 they will consider the hunt.

Their numbers are growing fast. I now see more moose and moose sign than deer.

moose is delicious to eat too - I've taken 2 moose from trips to Canada - i like the meat better than venison

I live in Westmoreland NY, just south of Rome, and there was a bull moose in our area last year this time of year.  My friend has pictures of the moose investigating his cows like he wanted to mount one or thought maybe they were fellow moose i dont know. but it was cool to say the least.  Hope he made his way back home.  That moose makes it the second or third moose to venture down into our area the last 8 yrs i would say.

It's great to see their numbers growing. My stepson shot one in NH last year....a young cow and it was the best tasting meat I've ever had!
