Lawdwaz
The bullet did not fragment. Can't happen with a Barnes. Do some media testing and see if you can get one to "fragment" I've done a bit of it over the years and never could get one to blow up. Any posibility a Ballistic Tip got into your magazine? I want to clarify something......by the way things were said early on in this thread, I figured that by "fragment" you guys meant more like detonate and end up with complete bullet failure. Pieces all over the place!! Sure, a petal or two could possibly shear off but that doesn't happen to often. If that did happen, the rest of the solid copper would stay intact. Has that deer been cut up yet?
NYbuck50
yea.. it was 50 or so degrees here Saturday, i took her straight to the butcher.. Ill be seeing him later this week, and plan on asking him what he found in there... As for the angle, i shot her at like a 45 degree quartering to me
NYbuck50
ok so this is weird.. I was going through pics of last year.. Here is a spike i took late last season.. Different bullet, same monster entry hole.. Leads me to think this wasn't the bullet or brush, but maybe some bounce back off of the bone? ATbuckhunter
I have the Barnes TSX and i love them. They have the most devastation i have ever seen out of a factory load. I use the 180 gr .30-06.
