fasteddie
Stopped at Beikirchs yesterday to buy some CCI 200 large rifle primers and some Hodgdon 4831 powder to use for 25-06 reloads . No primers but was able to score on the powder . I looked at the canister today and noticed it was H4831SC . I called dave at Beirirchs and asked what the heck the SC stood for . He said "short cut" . It's cut shorter so it will dispense easier than the regular 4831 . I hope it works as I have had to weigh the regular stuff on a beam scale . Doc
I wonder if that stuff will burn at the same speed as the non-SC stuff. That would be interesting to see if the point of impact changes at all. You might want to not mix bullets made with this new version in with the others until you have tested that out. Probably there is no difference, but it is better to be safe than sorry. covert
They have the short cut powders under both the Hodgdon and IMR lines. They (Hodgdon/IMR)claim they are identical ballistically, just cut shorter to flow through powder measures easier.
Culvercreek hunt club
I load the IMR 4007SSC for the 270 and 30-06. (Super Short Cut) Meters very well and flows easily throguh the powder tickler. I would be curious to see the difference in size between one manufacturers SC and anothers SSC.

Culvercreek hunt club
I didn't know that. I guess I should have since their reloading data all goes through the same portal page.
covert
Until you read the "About us" section it isn't really that clear.
