Mount it but don't hide fact it was escaped game farm buck, very surprised it didn't have tag in ear as required by law. perhaps more to story than being told hunter shot and then saw tag and removed(thought he'd get in trouble) then acted surprised he found out game farm buck? Think it was last year girl shot huge buck with tags in its ears she thought it was part of game department study, found out it was trophy breeder from farm 10 miles away..i guess she could of been made to give it back to game farm as it was marked as livestock but they let her keep it if I remember article from mag correctly.

And how would I know it was an escapee, unless I had made the hole in the fence?  I am not into bragging, but if I needed a good head mount for home or camp, sure, why not?  The deer was wild and free, and it was legally taken.

I don't think it could be entered in the trophy books, they can tell it was not a wild deer and technically that deer is owned by the person who raised it....not free range........check out the link I posted about the Louisiana buck.

If I found out that night or the next day, I would take some pictures and then take it back to the farm. I'm sure you're not supposed to eat them farm deer.
