WNY wind

am I wasting my time hunting in this wind

Keep the wind in your face,hunt on the ground from a natural blind or ground blind.Yesterday the deer and turkeys moved from the lower ground to the higher part of the property all were bedded facing the wind.A little after noon.

I have never had much luck hunting on a windy day . It always seemed like the deer tended to wait it out for the wind to die down .

Deer need to eat every 4 hours, and there are reports if seeking and chasing, so you have a chance.

Hit the bleat in between the wind gusts this morning...biggest buck ive seen in years came crashing across the power line cut into my ground spot. 4 guys hunting today, 3 saw deer. They are up an moving even in the wind!

Nope, went back to my original spot. My dad was hunting his stand and i wouldve been cutting him off. Tomorow morning im gonna hunt it though!

Rite after I posted the thread I saw a nice 8 chasing a doe. Got out it my climber to scout out a few other places. Got back to it and packed it all up. Took two steps and a doe tqn about ten yards and watched me set up in a different tree

for me it's less about success rates and being miserable. I've killed them in wind. hard for them to hear you sneak in and hard for you to hear them. still plenty of prime time left to hunt in this.
