TeeBugg
Snow and wind....hunt open areas? Leaving in a bit and trying to get a gameplan together for the afternoon...any thoughts?
BUCKANDAQUARTER
Maybe some shelter areas with a vantage point, I am trying to figure out my game plan too whilst waiting for my wife to return to watch our boys. Think i am going to a pine ridge that overlooks a ravine swamp and bordering young thick woods. Good luck.
cdmckane
I'm sitting here in my blind overlooking my field. I think I've spent more time restaking it down and tying it off so it stays put tonight than I have hunting. Now I think I've got it secured, it's time to get in out of the snow and wind and get some hunting done Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I537 using Tapatalk

cdmckane
This is my place. I'm set up in my blind on the far edge ofnthe field watching some of the runways into the field. Usually have quite a bit of deer here in the evenings but they all seem to have disappeared once gun season started. TeeBugg
Theres a nice buck i missed during archery that showed up again two nights in a row last week. Hasnt been seen since. But ive got a feeling he likes this junk weather because those are the only times anyone has seen him. Gonna try the edge of the cat tails tonite. Fingers crossed

azhuntress
Going to sit the last hour on a ridge 100 yards off the edge of a uncut cornfield. Hopefully I could catch a nice buck wanting to get a little snack before hunkering down for the night and the worst part of the storm. TeeBugg
Didnt see anything. Think they are in hibernation lol
BUCKANDAQUARTER
Yeah me neither. Just two trespassers that just got done pushing the two low pine ridge/small swamp ravines i had planned to hunt. I ended up going up to the top pine/spruce ridge. Nada. Doc
Here's the secret. As you go through the woods, keep an eye out scanning the tree-tops. This part of the season, deer resort to climbing trees. Yup .... that's where they are all hiding right now.
azhuntress
Last night I saw 5 doe and a 6 point. Going back out now to brave the weather but this time I'm going to sneak through the hemlocks.
the blur
Will deer be moving in this wind ?
DanceswithSkunks
Look for their sails above the brush. They'll be tacking towards a cornfield or pines.
