  1. I've used one for the past few seasons and I am extremely impressed. I always used to have to sharpen my knife but not any more. If my knife gets dull I just change the blade. It's made of surgical steel and is exactly like the knives that surgeons use....EXTREMELY sharp. After I showed my taxidermist my knife he bought some for him and his crew and now it's his favorite knife to use.
  2. Phade: I guess I'm too stupid to know how to PM you so I'll ask questions here on the forum. What do you mean by "yard" drinks? So you mentioned something about giving a $5 tip for the first drink and then $1 tip after that. Are drinks free in Vegas or do you have to pay for them? I've been looking online at transportation options and it seems like the bus is the best way to go. I can get an all day pass and get on and off several times. What do you think? There's also a double decker bus (like in London) where you sit up top that is like a 3 hour tour. Have you been on that? I thought the night time tour would be good so I could enjoy all the lights of the city. I wrote down your suggestion about the KGB inside of Harrah's. I like burgers so I'll be sure to get one there. Where can I see the Absinthe show you mentioned? Where can I get the Las Vegas Advisor that you mentioned? I'm going to research the 2014 American Casino Guide from Amazon that you told me about in just a minute. Thanks for all your suggestions and information. It will be nice to be prepared and ready for my upcoming Vegas vacation.
  3. Staying at Harrah's. I chose this hotel because it was right on the strip, fairly inexpensive and I don't plan on being in the room much anyway. Already booked one show (The Millionaire Dollar Quartet) since it's in the hotel where I'm staying plus I like the music of Johnny Cash, Elvis and the other two). I think I want to do as you mentioned and go shoot some of those guns. Now that sounds like fun!!! Too bad about Pawn Stars. I heard there was a long line but since I like to gamble, the longer I stand in line, the longer I am not gambling. LOL! After this brutal winter I would give anything to be standing outside in warm temperatures even if it's just standing in line. I know a lady that was just there a few weeks ago and Chumley was there and she got a nice picture with him. I'm just so ready to get out of this cold weather!
  4. Thought I would start a topic about Las Vegas since lots of people have been there. I just booked a trip there and will be staying a few days. I was there once seven years ago but only for a half day as I was just driving through and stopped...so this time will sorta be like my first time there. Any suggestions of sites to visit? I already saw the Grand Canyon and Hoover Dam so I'm thinking of things right in Vegas to do or see. One place I have in mind to visit is the "Pawn Stars" store as it's only 6 miles from my hotel. Anyone win anything substantial while they were there? Let's hear your Vegas experience.
  5. Peanut butter, mayo and sweet pickles. Yum! I also enjoy peanut butter and butter sandwiches -or- peanut butter (not warmed or melted) but just gobs of it in my chocolate ice cream -or- my all time favorite,,, dipping my dark chocolate Hersey bar in the peanut butter jar Peanut butter is just so yummy it can be eaten right off the spoon (I eat it that way too!) I think I'll go eat some now since we're talking about it. Yum, yum!
  6. JALA RUT is right on with the potential for post vasectomy gonads to getting the size of grapefruits if you don't rest them. My ex-husband shot a 30 target 3-D shoot the day after his vasectomy and was walking up and down hills. I told him it probably wasn't a good idea that he go but he wouldn't listen as he said he felt fine. Later that evening he was VERY swollen. I had a hard time hiding my laughter when he showed me how big they were.
  7. That's awfully nice you're willing to ship it to someone but probably the best thing to do with it is "ship" it to the garbage can. L.O.L. Sorry....I'm one of those annoying ex smokers that can't stand cigarettes anymore.
  8. I found a picture that I took of the deer after we dragged it out of the woods. It shows that weird side a little bit better.
  9. Can't post it too quickly because I don't have a picture of it. I only seen it in person. Probably by the time I did get a picture of it, this topic would be long forgotten. Sorry.
  10. No, but right behind it's eye and out of the side of it's head. It made a pretty cool European mount.
  11. I let this buck walk past me within 20 yards about a week before my friend shot it. It was definitely an odd one.
  12. Wow! You only paid $100 per year for Verizon??? I assumed you could never get a plan from Verizon that cheap! I have used Tracfone for the past 8 or more years but I don't use any of the fancy stuff either so can't help you there. Have you tried to call them to answer your questions? I have had a few problems throughout the years and needed their assistance and they were very helpful. Good luck!
  13. Very nice buck. Just think how much bigger he will be this year!!! Gives you something to look forward to, that's for sure!
  14. True The next poster hasn't told their spouse today that they love them.
  15. LOL, Yes they would make a nice stew! I hunt and eat squirrels but not them as they are my backyard friends. My husband always teases me that he would like to shoot and eat them because they are so fat from me feeding them but they are off limits. I enjoy watching them and so do my 2 cats (they are indoor cats so they have to watch from the window).
  16. I was thinking about all the animals last night and today and how it would suck to be them out in the bitter cold. I feed about 8 or so squirrels behind my house every morning through the winter but I didn't see them at all today. They must have been hunkered down in their nests. I'm sure I'll see them again tomorrow.

    Indoors

I use a block target and attach a 3 spot paper target face to it. I've never missed the target but if I did I would just end up shooting the concrete wall. Can't hurt the wall but it would definitely trash the arrow. LOL!
  19. I also stopped watching the video after I saw the doe crawling around. I wasn't impressed.

    Indoors

I can only shoot about 10 yards in my basement too. Indoor spot and 3-D leagues don't start until the first week of January.
  21. :fan:Woodchuck, I like the way you think.
  22. I'm with you guys. I watched it once a month ago when a friend was visiting and he wanted to watch it.. I thought it was the stupidest show that I have ever seen. I wouldn't watch it again ever!
  23. I live in PA just over the NY border and there are plenty of deer tracks around the apple trees in my front yard. I talked with a neighbor the other day that feeds the deer and he says that there are 6 bucks visiting his feed, one being a very large 10 point and three of them are 6 points, although one has lost half of his rack already.
