I'm not a subscriber so I only read the preview but just from the preview I can tell the author doesn't know what he's talking about.  In the preview he list "a New Yorker with hawk nesting on your high-rise" as one of the "pests problems".  In reality, wawks were purposely introduce to NYC to help with the rat and pigeon problem.

When I was working down by Wall Street, they introduced 3 hawks into Battery Park to cull the rat and pigeon problem there.  One day, one of the hawks mistaken some lady's Chihuahua for a rat (or did he?).  She hung on to the leash for her dog's life.  After that, they abandoned the Battery Park hawk program.
