Hang & hunt is more work than a climber IMHO, yes, but I pack both in my truck. Before the leaves fall, I prefer the hang on to take advantage of cover.

Get a good hang on and mini ladders aluminum can have up in a tree in 5 min crooked strait or full of limbs... climbers are way to limiting..

Need a straight tree  no limbs  in an area 15 to 20 yards from target spot down wind....  that doenst happen much..  ladders and hangon can go in limbed tree,crooked tree , tree with loose bark..ect ect..

I have loggy bayou hang on lite from 30 years ago added  mini ladder few years ago can be up any tree  in  10 min... you can ask red.... lol

How heavys your hang on - roughly, to lug in.

Stand is 6 lbs. 4 mini ladder are 8.5..  so 15 maybe with shoulder straps.

Crooked ,  leaning, have had them in apple trees.

My hang on is about 8 pounds, IIRC. I just had it out tonight in a 4 trunk twisted oak. All that was lacking was deer.
