Jeremy K
The daughter of the lady who lived in our house told us she planted this tree as a memorial to her late mom . Eventually it will drop this round faceted balls about 3/4 of an inch in diameter . I don't have any plans to remove it ,i just wondered what the heck kind of tree it is. Culvercreek hunt club
do the round balls look like the ones in the link? http://www.fcps.edu/islandcreekes/ecology/american_sycamore.htm
RangerClay
I took dendrology in high school. This would be MUCH easier if I had leaves to look at. From what you describle, it may be a sweet gum. But I like sycamore better. Edited May 15, 2014 by RangerClay
Jeremy K
I would have put pictures of the leaf but non are showing yet ,they are just starting to sprout. I did some looking after the last couple comments and it is a sicamore tree. Thanks for the info guys , its still a small tree but it has easily doubled in size in the last 2 years.
