crappyice
Banged in sick for tomorrow to give it one last go. I am going to be hunting a place where we have seen many deer and my buddy took a small six out of there last weekend. How do people feel about hunting the same area where a deer was recently harvested? Or, do I give another spot on the property a shot where I have not seen as much activity? biggamefish
I had a buddy sit where his brother harvested a deer earlier in the day and he said the doe walked right past the gut pile and didn't even aknowledge it being there. I don't think it makes a big difference but deer do different things in different areas. I wouldn't hisatate in hunting that area if it was a week ago the coyotes have picked it apart and the sent has been around for awhile now. Bleitten04
If your seeing more deer there I would hunt there!!!!
mkrafty133
The land I hunt has a particular stand that seems to take multiple deer every year. We have taken 3 deer in one day all at different times. All does but still effective.
meatmuzzy
I shot a buck last saturday morning and drove my truck into the woods to get it. Sunday morning my friend sat in my stand and saw a doe and a 4 point, so I don't think it bothers them much. I have heard that if you take one of the dominant does out of the herd it whacks them out for a little while. Interesting you should say that cause I took an adult doe this year out of one of my spots and the place shut down for like 2 weeks. I didnt see a single deer when before i was seeing around 4 or 5 a sit. I think you're on to something with that.
Fantail
What ever you choose to do I hope you get some luck. Last year I bowhunted durring closing week and it was damn cold & quiet. Needed much layering up in a tree. Felt like the camo michelin man. But I did see a nice wide racked 6 just couldn't get a shot, so you never know. gundeck
I took two deer from the same stand on the same day this season. When I recovered the second arrow, it was within two feet of where I recovered the first arrow. They were shot about eight hours apart. crappyice
Well just got back from sitting all day. I did sit in the same spot in the morning (6:15-12:30). Saw 2 does way off in the distance, one doe that snuck up on me to 40 yards then made a very odd change of direction straight up and over a small mountain. At abot 10:30 4 does came down the expected path, walked right to me to about 15 yards. All they needed to do was take three more steps and ... no luck! Winded me with a little swirling wind and busted. So I guess the area was not greatly affected. Sat from 1:30 - 4:45 at another location - Saw nothin' So much for this bow season...skunked again.
