F-150
While baling hay today,in a field next to marsh bedding area a doe with three fawns appeared. I have seen a doe with one or two fawns but never three before. They all appeared in good health but closer I got to them, they took off ! dbHunterNY
Means they're nice and healthy. Good to hear it. Weather this season has been good for getting hay in but I feel like everyone's short this year just a little.
nyslowhand
Got video clip of a doe with 3 fawns recently. First I've ever seen or gotten photos of. G-Man; habitat sucks & winter was bitterly cold with almost constant snow cover, so I'm not so sure about that theory. Had a couple of mild winters prior to last year and never saw triplets. Maybe more about the specific doe and what was going on when she was bred..!?! For sure, I'm no biologist!!!
turkeyfeathers
Only have heard rumors of a doe will adopt a fawn early on or vice versa if it's mother got hit by car etc. Not sure of the truth to this.
