growalot
July four someone literally cut a fawn in half with their vehical at the end of our drive. So I went out and scaped it up(doe) and took it by wheelbarrow to the woods...what a stinking mess..anyhow I was really hoping it was one of the twins...we have several on the property....no all are acounted for but I caught a glimpse of a single doe...she looked like a holstein cow just before a late milking... I hope she doesn't get mastitis and die...poor thing looked mighty uncomfortable....

ants
Stinks..but unfortunately thats the way it is sometimes…I hate seeing any dead deer. Either on the side of the road after being hit by cars, or in the woods during the season after a hunter shot & just lost the deer. Unfortunately its an all too common part of the game. growalot
OK help me out...Didn't I read some where a couple of years ago that the state axed road kill pick up in the budget? Would, if I'm correct count for the amounts we have been seeing?... wish I could remember where I saw that. Any how when we see things like this ..fawns...the consequences to the doe are lost...Mastitis is a nasty disease when untreated...I had a young goat get it and after treatment she would never nurse any of her births after that...we tried every thing ...all had to be bottle or conditioned to another goat...
