WestchesterBowman
Depending on the day, my commute takes me along the three major NS parkways in southern westchester, the Bronx River Parkway, the Sprain Brooke and the Saw Mill. Along all three of these I consistently see deer. There seem to be large patches of open space in some sections. Anyone have experience or knowledge of this area or am I wasting my time? ATbuckhunter
Well you need private land to hunt most of Westchester so you may have to start knocking on some door's. I doubt youll find someone with 10 acres but I always see deer in the areas your talking about, so its worth a shot.
Elmo
The area you're talking about (Hastings-On-Hudson, Dobbs Ferry, Ardsley) there is not hunting and the houses there are so packed together, you'll have to get permission from several houses to get your 500 feet clearance. Hastings-On-Hudson was one of those towns that was looking into sterilizing the deer as a solution.

I know the exact two deer you are talking about. There is giant, and I mean giant buck that hangs on the side of the Merritt Parkway as well, right near greenwich. JGaruti3
There are a few DEC watershed areas you can get a permit for and hunt in. Can't say that I have hunted any but it is doable. There is definitely a ton of deer in Westchester.
