growalot
What a beautiful opener!..I had the best time this morning and never saw a deer....I very slowly walked the road to lower blinds...first time ever,I needed the head lamp and even then nearly got turned around..the fallen leafs gobbled up all my trails...it rained all nite and there are still low lying clouds...so it's in and out fog and wet...the temps were just comfy with my base layer and the Hunter safety vest on over it and light pants...It was noisy setting up the first time but I managed to do so right under the trees the turkeys were in...so as it got light I had turkeys dropping every where...literally all around me!...Oh man we had fun talking and gathering the flocks I even got a Tom to gobble and I gobbled back. I later spotted him 60 yrds out looking for me,until a boss hen caught his attention with some cackles. I'd let them walk by then call them back...knowing the birds behind me would take over...What a learning experience...they all made so many different sounds...Gosh it was so much fun...but alas Ma nature knocked and to be blunt...no more woods squatting for me!...lol so I made it from 6am in the seat until 10am..... Got home to hear the Gator was suppose to arrive tomorrow...but I won't be here...so maybe not...and I have another family that left a message wanting a doe....Maybe This weekend I can get one under my belt...this guy sounded much younger...so should be able to handle and early doe..lets hope Good luck all ..I'll be out this afternoon again...the sounds and sights and smells of the fall woods...just can't be matched

landtracdeerhunter
Moments like those are just so much dang fun. I get just excited seeing the turkey, as seeing a nice mature buck. We'll maybe not quite as much, LOL. Good luck with the Gator. Take it slow and easy. No popping wheelies till it gets broke in. Don't let it get into the swamp or it might just get away from ya, LOL.
