fire question

Now that I found this forum I can finally ask questions I've always had:

Background: I only deer hunt during gun season, not bow but eventually I will get into bow.

Question: IS it rude to have a small fire in the woods like free-camping as I'm prone to do, during bow season? Meaning, am I scaring-away deer / pissing-off people if I do this when I know they're at least "possibly" hunting on the same mountain/hill?

no,if your passion right now is camping and enjoying a fire at night then have at it..........the outdoors are for all of us to enjoy, regardless of the pastime.

I read an article where the author stated that camp fire smoke is not a smell that deer associated with danger and he actually had a handheld smoker that he smoked his hunting clothes as a cover up scent.

Ik thus is gonna get some cap thrown around me but I have numerous time shot deer within a half hour or so from smoking Including my biggest buck thus far I think the smoke smell is probably better than a straight human smell but also might be luck and coincidence.

Kind of off topic, but I've shot multiple deer with a cigarette hanging outta my mouth.

If you wanna have a fire, go for it as long as it's legal

Buddy has a tower he cooks out of with wood stove....no problem seeing deer

Brother has a Hobbit house...routinely has wood stove going for warmth. Sees lots of deer.

My friends dad shot a spike while smoking a cigarette and sitting in the stand with a coffee. We all try to keep any strange scents off us, but he might have had a curious deer or something. I'm not sure that it would work for a seasoned buck.
