HOWARD, N.Y. (AP) - Authorities say charges are pending against two men who led police in western New York on a vehicle and foot chase that ended after one of the suspects climbed a tree.

The Steuben County Sheriff's Office says the men fled a deputy who was checking on their parked vehicle in the town of Howard Saturday morning. The driver sped away at speeds reaching 80 mph and drove through a field before going over an embankment.

The two men then fled into the woods.

One of the men was taken into custody about 30 minutes later at a farm. The other man ran into two bow hunters who called 911 while he climbed a tree.

Any of you guys call 911?
