sweet old bill
a buddy asked if I could make some killings arrows for a buddy of him. He had been helping him get ready for the winter and would not take any money for the help. As we get older ( 73 me), it sure does help to have some younger guy or family that helps us seniors out. So I got out my arrow making outfit and made him a doz Easton 400 carbon hunter arrows, with 2 inch BH vanes. Well I got a message back that he had had taken in Iowa a 140+ buck with the arrows I made up for him. Says they sure were killers, as the buck only went 40 yards after being hit with the arrow...
Big Indian
Sweet old Bill, How difficult is it to make your own arrows ? Can a dummy like me do it, or do you need some sort of skill and special tools? Thanks
fasteddie
It'spretty easy . You need to cut your arrows to length or have them cut for you . You need a decent fletching jig .... the better ones are a bit pricy like Bitzinberger $100+ (sp) but Bohning makes one for about $35 and it works quite well . Once you have invested in the gear , you are set for many years of fletching . Check out the DIY forum for an arrow saw / cutoff .

Just still wondering if a dummy can do it.

biggamefish
I make my own and i mount my roto zip to the bench and square it off then just roll the arrows into it and rotate works great and i didn't have to buy a special tool.
