Doewhacker
The people that say they saw or there deer was 200+ pounds goes with the grain of salt saying. I have shot deer and people say that that is a 180 pound deer right there and I am like I doubt it turns out to be 130 pounds on the sclae and they just look at me like I hit them in the jaw with a right hook. I was fortunate to take a 185 pound 9 pointer (dressed) once in 14 years of hunting I know what he looked like and some of these guys who have there pic up and say it was a 200 pound deer are crazy. Like I said before take it all with a grain of salt. I like those guys that eye ball the weight of a deer, never are they close. The scale doesn't lie, thats why we weigh all of our deer. Culvercreek hunt club
Take a look at the deers body in the truck.. there is no way that deer weights 437 lbs.. I saw an alberta buck that weight 305 in person and you wouldn't have been able to put him in that truck :-\ I saw one 300 pound buck taken in Northern Maine. It would not have looked like that in the tuck. the neck on it was wider than the waist of the guy who shot it...lol
SilentStalker
http://www.northamericanwhitetail.com/trophybucks/tr_1103goliath/ We all remember this guy and I'm going to go out on a limb to say there is no bucks around the Alcove area or NYS even comparable. I'd love to see that 437# or at least some verification from that comment. It is reported the biggest whitetail came out of Minn in 1926 i think and was an estimated 511#. So I find it difficult to believe that a 437# is number 5 in NYS.
