grampy
You must have a keen eye for sheds. The one in the 2nd.picture, I would have stepped on and kept going. Snow is starting to melt in the woods here finally. I'd like to get out and try to find a couple sheds myself.
WNY Bowhunter
I hope to find a couple of nice ones that are a lot easier to see!!! Saw several bucks yesterday that are showing signs of new growth...
NYhuntingdogs
Thanks WNY. I found my first shed antler yesterday, too. I stopped for a moment and there it was, buried in an inch of mud with the tines sticking out. I wonder how many times I've stepped over one without realizing I was doing so. It's a real small 4 point, still got a bunch of mud on it and all the tines have been chewed on by some critters. Do you have any tips for cleaning off that caked mud? WNY Bowhunter
Put in six hours yesterday an only came home with one old antler. I am very discouraged at this point... #7:
WNY Bowhunter
Put in a few more hours today and had my best day so far during this otherwise pathetic shed season... My first find was this deadhead 8-pt, also found a dead fawn... Shed #8: Shed #9: Edited April 8, 2015 by WNY Bowhunter

wooly
Can't complain about a quick set this close to gobbler season, but I know where you're coming from. This shortened spring will cut into the total antler count big time. Too bad we can't have our "best season" every year, but all that uncertainty is kinda what antler hunting is all about! Hope you can grab a few more before the buzzer!
WNY Bowhunter
I believe that I have a set off of the same buck from last year. If so, he made an impressive jump from 1.5 to 2.5...
