Electronic Turkey Calls

Personally I have never used one nor do I know anyone who has.  I was interested to know what my fellow hunters think of them?

Q: Can I use an electronic call for coyote and other furbearer hunting?

A: Yes. You may NOT use an electronic call for turkey, ducks or geese.

They're not legal in NY, but I'd try it if they were.

Luckily I get to hunt numerous states where they are legal.  I was wondering if anyone had experience with them?

I have used turkey sounds to call coyotes with my foxpro (it works really well by the way) and have more responses from turkeys coming to investigate as I have coyotes

I've got a "Flextone Torch" that has a variety of calls on it from rabbits, to mice, to owls, to predator calls, to deer grunts and bleats, to turkey clucks, yelps, and purrs, and woodpeckers.

It's small enough I keep it in my camera bag, pack, or pocket for any encounter that may arise while out with the camera. I've tried it on a few gobblers pre season just to see what kind of reaction I'd get from it, but the only reaction I ever got was a shock gobble to the crow call. The turkey sounds are not very realistic, but some of the others are accurate enough to use from time to time.

My opinion is, making the calls myself, box, slate, mouth, wingbone or whatever, is more than half the fun of turkey hunting.
