Seeing many Turkeys??

I scouted my lease this weekend in zone 7M. Saw some birds, but not like the past. I didnt even see any in the fields while driving around. Whats the word out there....are you seeing less Birds? Could the winter have affected them? Just wondering if others are finding the same or not.

Fewer birds for sure.  I think the biggest population of turkeys in NY right now is in Albany!

I saw quite a few in jersey while driving up from Florida yesterday. I saw a couple really nice strutters and even one nice one in NC.

Nothing….I took a walk yesterday and saw one small area that they were scratching up and two sets of tracks out in the cut fields. Im thinking that the winter took its toll.

I saw some large flocks in Jan and Feb and I saw 3 toms all fanned out this past weekend but have yet to hear a gobble. They seem to survive the harshest of winters so I'm sure there are some decent numbers out there.

Seeing a fair amount, now where near what it was 10-15 years back...but way better then it's been the last 4 or 5 years.
