What do I need to legally hunt geese besides a license, HIP # and a federal stamp??? Non lead shot I know...

verify in regs. but I think they removed that restriction for the early (September), resident goose hunt.

I knew they removed it for snow geese..I'll check on the regs for the Canadas..That would fun to have a flock of big honkers 20 yards overhead and have 5 rounds in the gun !! I have taken as many as 4 from a flock with the 3 shot....Bang...Bang...Bang...<<throw single in breech>>..Bang..<<throw another single in breech>>..BANG...Hehehe..

Yup, you're right, Culver..During the September season your gun can hold up to seven shells..

I haven't hunted early geese in a couple of years..

The only time that the plug has been OUT of my 11-87 was when I used it as a tent gun for bear protection up in Alaska...

Sounds like your pretty well set. I would  add at least a dozen decoys and a decent call.

I found a field full of geese this morning that I can hunt, I'll be there Tuesday!
