growalot
the weather will change...so perhaps the opening day will be an observation day in one of the 4 enclosed blinds...day temps say 53 and night 43... Now rain all day...we'll see. had planned an afternoon hunt at the new land but not in rain the first day...I could get Mr B to sign over the landowners doe tag...he hunts at camp during gun season. Raining good here now and calling for rain tomorrow...so any breaks will have them feeding and moving... growalot
Back down to 20 % chance opening day....but lots of rain the first 6 days.....Well we'll see we have had rain on and off since yesterday....I won't use the climber on rainy days so it loos like sits...camp fore cast isn't any better...how about your areas? phade
Doe only will keep me out of the woods for the most part. Add in steady rain, and it's a surefire recipe to watch football, hang with the family, and sneak in a few minutes of prep work in between rains. G-Man
Buy a muzzleloader stamp, gives antler less valid anywhere in state, no reason to sign over doe tag yet..m
growalot
Yep phade...I will do a light drizzel at home ....but here I have the blinds and house nearby...Yet again, Hey thanks DEC you ##%^^%^ clueless twitts!.... Anyways I've taken some nice bow deer in foggy damp weather...but I was younger for most of them hence the blinds now.. Whats maddening...it took a few days for the deer to eat the corn left in fields and then they showed up in my clover...6 big doe with 2 fawn and 10-20 yrds infront of the wooden blind I built a few years ago day and night pics...I wouldn't have hesitatated shooting any of them .....Now between me and the nieghbor perhaps 2 neighbors,,, they will have 230 acres to hide in until gun season. then still have 175 acres then... Well I hope to use the 8M or 8X tags I have that first 2 weeks..now Mr. B has decided he feels safe enough to eat venison once a week again...I have my hunting orders..lol
growalot
No way will I buy a ML stamp this year when I am being told I can not shoot my usual doe and still have a chance at a buck on my land...the xbow will stay in it's case this year...Besides...he is one of the no doe shooting crowd...thats why I take them. Doc
The weather forecast will be changing daily right up until opening day, and perhaps even during that day. I'm just worrying about how the weather affects my squirrel hunting for those first couple of doe-only weeks. The only forecast that I trust is when I stick my head outside in the morning. landtracdeerhunter
I can accept the weather, rain or shine. This doe only rule shoved down the hunters throats, I'll never accept!
A Sportsman
Over here on LI they are saying rain Thursday thru Sunday. Not burning a vaca day to sit in rain in hopes for a doe. Plus I don't like the prospect of the rain washing away a blood trail.
