first time byer of crossbow

Is there a cross package that you would recommend for a adult first time buyer of a crossbow, I have shot traditional and compound bows my whole life I am a senior in my 60's retired and would like to try a crossbow. I do not want to spend a lot of dollars to try out a new sport.

Check out Dicks in Oneonta, they have a nice selection and price range. I myself picked up a 10 point titan extreme a couple years ago and love it, but that was a little pricey. The dicks in oneonta also has a 10 yard range where you can test them out.

My suggestion is go someplace and see what suits you best. At a place like Dicks you should be able to handle and possibly shoot a few crossbows. What feels right for me may not be right for you. Ten point/women ridge and Barnett are in my opinion good manufacturers to look into.

I made up some info package on cross bows package and also that Dicks has a sale on crossbows ( $50 off ) for the guy down the road that wants to try the sport. MY thanks for the feedbacks and will give them to him as well.

 

I am a 74 year old fart that still can draw and hunt with my compound bows or my traditional recurves...so no cross bow for me as yet.

Cross-bow Revolution magazine, usually on the rack in tractor supply and price chopper, has a constant review of bows in all price ranges.  It's a good place to start.

 

Also, keep in mind that if it need work/adjustment, a brand that is sold locally might be the best option.

 

As a beginner with x-bow myself I know any of the equipment out there would have worked well for me.  I picked what felt best and had an interchangeable butt pad.
