I've been trapping a long time never ran into any mange...how do you handle it?

dispatch , dig hole and bury and then cuss a few times that critter was useless but you are helping stop the spread

They will dig down I've found and there are so many rocks were I'm trapping there isn't to far to dig down so I bury out in swamp 60 yards out were no one ever goes

I'm assuming disposable gloves? Do you keep your rope? I have a dog and would want to make sure that don't come home with me....why about set location? Reuse trap?

I don't touch it I'll use a stick to prop legs up then rope it and synch it tight and then cut a foot away from yote when out deep enough to bury

I've re used before but I've taken and washed in the creek real good this one the animal was so bad there was hair and skin and yuckkkkk on it so I pulled and it's out soaking in some mixture of stuff now till I re boil it

6 thousand views of this thread and it hasn't gotten off topic or trolls for once .. I just hope people see the good side of it like today .. it sucked but I'm helping the rest of the canines so they don't get it or so someones dog doesnt roll in it when it died some were ..

I follow it every year. My Dad hunted with these guys (Babine Outfitters) several years ago and shot 2 nice wolves over bait at an outpost camp. Their trapping line thread is a huge hit every single year, really cool to follow.

Today was another good day cause I had fur to skin ... 1 red fox with old wound on it 2 rats 1 from farm ditch 1 from feed bed

How long does it take you to skin a fox, is it easier or harder when it's cold?

Takes me about 30 mins roughly maybe 45 ...way easier when it's warm it pulls rite down

Is that including putting up on boards ? I'm not fast but that sounds long. Have you tried my Windex to remove blood trick yet ? Spray , fur comb and wipe out with paper towels. I'm still perplexed at that mush sqush without a tail you caught. Maybe daughter and I will set a few ditches locally just to get out soon.

I can't wait another week or so and I'll be setting later than I wanted to but this way to have to pull so many time going outta town and what not just hope the snow trend keeps up

Tail takes me a little bit i skin out first ... Depends on how much bleeding I get when I get around the head it slows me down working paper towels in and doing eyes and ears then removing cartilage from the ears ..

Just skinning take me 20-30 then add in ears then scraping and boraxing it real good ..
