My Jerky

Well after getting my doe back from my processor, I decided to make all the ground into Jerky.

I'm going to zip-lock 1/2 lbs. baggies and bring them to camp for my all day sits.  First time I've used the Teriyaki blend.  I think I prefer the Original and Hickory but still good.

I used the Jerky blaster which you can see on the far right.post-2706-0-18361200-1445781239_thumb.jp

Watch the plastic bags and jerky . When I make my jerky from steaks and chops (in oven) I'll put it in a paper bag so moisture doesn't build up. Even dry it holds moisture .

Thanks for this info, I always used zip locks. But, jerky doesn't last long in my house. I can make up a couple pounds of peppered beef jerky and in a few days is gone.

If I made it up and hid some in a cool dry place will it keep in the paper bags?

Doesn't last long around our house either. But yes, it will hold up longer in paper bags than plastic. I used to use plastic but noticed condensation in the bags and since have gone to paper sandwich bags. It'll dry out a little bit more in paper but don't have to worry about it going bad as quick.
