DirtTime
Anyone here been there? The g/f wants to take her parents camping ( well cabining ), and this seems to be the place they decided on. Seems to have good reviews and sounds like the fishing is pretty good as well.

DirtTime
Glamping is the new trend! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Both her parents have trouble walking, so a cabin was the only option. I really don't care about the cabin. I made them get the most rustic of the bunch. There's a lake and I will be fishing, something I don't get a chance to do very often. DirtTime
The trip was OK. Cabins are very close to each other. Fishing stunk! I heard a lot about Indian Lake being great fishing. If you have a boat to get to deep water for the trout or hit the coves and points for bass and pike. We mainly caught 3-5" Rock Bass and Small mouth Bass. The biggest was around 9". Great food, and lots of beer! The g/f took more pics so once she gets them from the camera to her PC I have a few more.
grampy
Even if the fishing was just so-so. It looks like a great place and you all ate VERY well! Good times and memories were made! And sometimes it's just nice to get away!
DirtTime
It was a good trip. Monday night we had a massive thunder and lighting storm that lasted about 2 hours. Forgot how loud rain is on a metal roof. LOL The g/f's dad was enjoying just catching fish, I wanted a few for the pan. But, it's called fishing not catching. The baby birds were the object of discussion quite a bit. I named them little peepers. Odd thing is we didn't see a single Loon ( except other campers and our selves of course ). A momma duck with her babies. On the drive home today we saw a bunch of turkeys crossing RT30, a few had poults. I forgot how much I love being in the middle and upper ADK's.
wooly
Nice pics and story line ...rob! I'll bet it was nice to just get away for a while even if the fishin' wasn't the best. Great views between the boulders and across the lake. Looks like my kinda place!
DirtTime
Thanks wooly. It was great to be in the mountains. Watching that storm from the porch was pretty cool. Watching the lightning light up the lake was awesome. For anyone who has never heard a severe thunder storm in a high elevation, you are missing out. It's loud due to the cleaner air, and you can hear the thunder travel across mountain tops and through valleys. Hard to explain how far it travels. But one clap can roll around for a full minute or longer. If it had just been thunder and light rain I would have tried fishing for bullheads. But, I don't mess with water when lightning is involved. DirtTime
Crap! I can't edit the pics post. Was deleting a few pics from the phone and forgot to upload this one to the PC. This is my pup. G/f was trying to get her to go back in the lake.
2012_taco
...rob, i hear ya on the thunder storm, we got caught in a real severe storm camping with the kids years ago in the Rockies. Those storms can destroy a tent in no time!
DirtTime
Well, we went through the pics the g/f took. Mainly flowers and the same pics of the same landscape I took. The only different one was this, when she asked about the Safe Act. Sorry if the blur doesn't cover the finger. FUAC!
