It's official, first Robins are here!!!

Woke up this morning, and as I was making some coffee, I noticed out the window looking in my backyard, 2 Robins!! They are finally here!!! Spring is right around the corner now!!!

They are calling for temps in the 60's this week. That should get a lot of people into spring turkey mode real quick…...

For some reason I have robins here throughout the year. I'm not sure why.

They work in tandem during the winter to find bugs/food: one will flip a leaf out of the way while the other one goes in for the kill. It's comical and entertaining to watch.

In areas with certain cover and food sources, robins winter here in NY...I have seen them a lot along the eastern shore of Seneca Lake,in areas with heavy , dense evergreen cover and plentiful food sources such as multiflora rose and wild grape.

 

I have also seen them in numbers in isolated areas of heavy cover here in Steuben County in January.

Started seeing them mid week last week. Cant wait for gardening season and turkey hunting.
