Lawn weeds

Recommended Posts

Hi, well not really a land management post, I thought this would be a good place to ask.

Up at the camp, I have about a half acre of pretty nice lawn. It is being taken over by weeds though.

What could I spray on it? I have a 25 gallon tank sprayer for the ATV. Thanks.

I don't even worry about weeds anymore. Just make sure to keep the lawn cut short and it'll be hard to tell the difference.

I would like to keep up with it though. Going to be my "regular" lawn someday.

The best time to put down weed killer is actually in the late fall. As late in November as you can go. The weed will store the killer all winter and never germinate in the spring. Thats what I do and my lawn has always been  pretty weed free.

2-4 d will kill all your broadleaf and leave your grass alone, it's the same spray they use in the suburbs and charge the homeowner a fortune for.. can get a pint cheap and it will last you 4 years..

Any farm supply store will carry it..mix it a little strong and watch the dandelions turn purple and curl up in a few hours..

10-4, thanks. I guess the co-op will know what it is?
