Baby Peacocks

Buddies dad has a few and they had babies a couple years ago. He wanted to see if he could get them to make more this year. Looks like it's working out.

No not to eat.

They just run around and actually stay close to their house. They are pets.

Cool birds but boy are they noisy and loud!

They rarely make a sound. I think maybe three times in the 4 years they been there I heard the adults. The worst was last year trying to get my hunting clothes on in the dark and one sounded off a few feet behind me. Made me jump.

 

I hear the basic chicken roosters more then I hear the Peacocks.

 

I used to have some pics of the adults, a couple with the males in full fan. Between changing phones I don't have them anymore.

Going up in June to help build the the new coop so I will get some then.

 

The big thing is they will peck at their own reflection. So a shiny car might get chipped up. LOL. They don't realize it's not another bird and they get aggressive.

 

Awesome to watch them.
